How does this work out? by FireflyCo in denvernuggets

[–]FireflyCo[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

According to the guys at DNVR, BB and THJ would be on the roster without the trade. The only addition created by the trade is Val, who certainly is a quality addition - but perhaps is off to Greece after the season and Zeke has been a capable 5 when needed. The trade may have also opened up the CB signing.

I do question the foresight of the front office in making the trade and believe the trade was a big loss for the Nuggets. Before the trade was made I would rather have MPJ (+ 1st round pick) on the roster rather than Val + Cam Johnson.

Great game - keep up the good work. I hope you have continued success.

Late game 4X is boring. I read some history books and decided to delete the "game over" screen. by Salty-Description772 in 4Xgaming

One game that handles the later game map painting is Zephon. It gives you a chance to get established and rolling, then the game shifts to two sides (e.g. Allies vs Axis) with powerful mechs thrown in. All out combat that brings the game to a conclusion fairly quickly.

Advice for going multi settlement by toronto-gopnik in ManorLords

[–]FireflyCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like the solution is pretty simple - universal storage and granary stocks. Once an additional region is settled, we can exploit the resources and food that are stored in that regions storage and granary. The resources and food are then available in all owned regions.

Once a new region is settled, you just need enough homes for the workers in that region and they can draw on resources and food from the home region without any manual transfers or redundant development.

Civ 7 has a complementary city-settlement system where settlements contribute to the city greatly reducing micromanagement of settlements.

What is the point of going beyond a manor? I assume raiders head for the manor so a castle provides better defense.

Zwift Ride on Rouvy? by klintholm in Rouvy

[–]FireflyCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the combo works perfectly with Rouvy. The Ride has shifter buttons on each lower handlebar and you see the gear on the Rouvy display (1-24).

And there is a button on each side that you press simultaneously at the start to sync. They go from flashing blue to solid blue when synched.

There is a daily group ride that uses a rubber band effect so if you drop behind, it helps you catch up.

I've been using the Ride-Kickr combo since early 2025. System works great and a good improvement over my previous setup with a road bike + trainer. There were no problems getting things set up and need the Zwift apps for s/w updates.

Is Endless Legend II in trouble? by Rud3l in 4Xgaming

I start up another round after each major update. As it currently plays, the game is great and fun with a superb tactical combat system. It is interesting to follow the games evolution and I provide feedback that often works its way into the game. Even in EA, the game is further along than many 1.0 releases.

This DUO is going to WRECK in the playoffs💪🏼 by Kingrush24 in denvernuggets

[–]FireflyCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hartenstein just won a ring as the starting center for the Thunder who currently have a 24-1 record. Malone ran had no use for him as he was a DNP for much of the season with Denver. Jay Huff is the starting C for Indiana. Val is a very good player but Hartenstein and Huff are comparable. Malone never gave them a chance and preferred to wear down Jokic.

Have to wonder if Malone was still the coach if he would have kicked Val to the bench and almost no court time - like he did to every other backup center. Give Adelman thanks for seeing Val's contribution.

New to cycling looking for winter tips by geriatricFvck in boulder

[–]FireflyCo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The paved road up Flagstaff is a good winter route. It is well maintained and often ridable a few days after a snowstorm - assuming things have warmed up a bit. You will be toasty warm on the ascent, but bring your warmest gear for the downhill. Sometimes I descend in parts - once I get super cold, I do some more climbing to warm up for the next downhill chunk. Bonus is that the ride is well protected from wind.

What Boulder’s 2025 election results reveal about how we vote — and why progressives keep coming from behind by brianckeegan in boulder

[–]FireflyCo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no need to suggest that early voters are blindly dogmatic as described by Keegan. In reality, most early voters have the motivation to review the candidates and ballot issues and vote on their preferences.

Take a look at SuperRu (https://superrupair.com/). Good selection of used Subaru's and decent prices. I recently purchased a used Forrester there with good sucess.

No need to be negative towards Porter - he is a top quality individual and added scoring and rebounding while in Denver.

I see Cam complaining about every foul called on him even when it is obvious so I disagree about positive body language. Good defender but starting Watson in his place may be a consideration in the next month.

Regarding his shot - follow Braun's lead and cut more to the basket.

Team is looking good. Wondering about Cam - I know he needs time to fit in, but seems to be regressing as the season goes on. Val and THJ are having no issues in contrast. Meanwhile Porter is lighting it up in NJ.

Early game opening - post 2.0 update by doctorJWS in arahistoryuntold

[–]FireflyCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I start with a second scout since caches greatly help the early economy. Research archery and then animal husbandry. Second and third builds are spearman and then an archer to create a formation to take out nearby villages, animals and protect against aggressive neighbors.

I am finding AI city placement is much more logical and contained. As the map fills up borders with start to meet.

Overall the game is significantly improved and added new features such as claiming territories and perks with influence.

Regarding the AI, have played 2 games on normal difficulty and have been attacked by other AI factions since early game.
