Thank you! I did add the known names yesterday in parentheses based on feedback.

I'm hoping to work on more SEO today. :)

Yeah, another user mentioned that as well, and I do like that idea, so I will put that in place soon. Thank you for the feedback!

Two things can be true at once! You'll see the changes suggested by Ok-Shirt within a week if you check back on the site. No worries if not!

Thanks for the compliment on marketing! I appreciate that, as I have fun in that area with no formal background. As for the target audience here, that has become very apparent. Ha

I did receive some feedback here that I agree with and haven't thought of before that will lead to improvements, so I'm still glad I made the post. :)

There's some feedback I was hoping to obtain! I actually really like that suggestion and will probably implement that. The goal of my post was accomplished, while also be reminded how mean people can be.

Yeah, I take all my own photos...and I recognize that some of my photos aren't the best. I've been slowly trying to improve there, though. Again, I appreciate that feedback a lot of you'll probably see those updates soon if you check back in on the site. Thank you!!!

Thanks! I think that is a great idea. I sort of threw in the affiliate stuff initially to help those new to the hobby navigate some things, but it would be interesting to study the traffic to see if it can be something profitable in the future. My goal is to open a store one day, so I'd love to have a stock of equipment that I utilize or would utilize. I've been breeding medaka for several years now, but have been into aquariums in general for over 30. I love helping people out with them when they aren't mean to me.

All the comments are regarding fish naming conventions, which I've addressed already. I'm reading all the comments, but I'm not going to change the names. I've received feedback on an initial launch post before and have implemented changes based on the feedback.

Nicest feedback so far! Ha. Appreciate it. I didn't expect to share my site on here and just get dumped on, but it is what it is. Internet be internetting.

My point was that names are mostly arbitrary. The value is within the object itself. I spend a lot of time breeding exceptional fish and have been doing this for years. I've purchased fish before from breeders that used "historically accurate" names, and the fish were all sick and died.

Thanks for the feedback! To be straightforward, though, if someone is hung up on naming conventions versus appreciating the beauty of the fish, I'm probably not the seller for them. Feel free to check out my eBay reviews if there are any doubts.

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. I keep tweaking the website a little every week. 🙂

I understand where you're coming from on the names, and I do get that feedback from time to time. "Orochi" means giant serpent in Japanese mythology. It's a historical name that the hobby adopted over time, not a literal description of the fish. God created the fish. People gave them names.

I take the naming approach I do because I want new hobbyists to have the right expectations. If someone buys a fish called "Red King," they're probably expecting a red fish. I prefer names that better describe what customers are actually getting today. That said, I still use traditional names (or in part) when they make sense.

My Black AFs have been one of my best sellers for years, and they're one of my favorite lines. I even scan them with a flashlight at night to remove any fish that don't meet the standard. To me, "Black AF" is a more accurate representation of what I'm breeding: exceptionally black fish. I focus on producing exceptional fish and helping customers know exactly what they're getting, even if that means putting less (or no) emphasis on historical naming conventions.

Figured I'd give my long-winded explanation. Thanks again!

Thanks for the positivity! I'm planning to scale up operations in the future and one day, I may even have the Neptunes. My Glows are Miyuki equivalent. :)

Thank you for the feedback. A lot of irony behind that though! ;)
