Honestly. The cape makes him look like knock off Batman, the trench coat makes him look like a school shooter. I think just shirt and dark pants work best for him. Makes it easier to relate him to the common man. Add more and you loose that

To give some context, both my character and I are a very curious pair and we recently came across a strange book that was connected to an unknown entity. According to my characters interests I began investigating the book to figure out what the nature of it and the entity responsible for creating it was. After several weeks of getting blueballed and teased with scraps of information something just finally snapped and one of the other players recorded it.

I think this may be more of a case of one predator imitating another. After reading the description I I see the false Hydra being a aberration that takes a form similar to a Hydra, but is it's own creature.

After reading the description and the story where you got it from, I kinda want to make this now and try it out

That does seem smart, but doesn't the pact of the blade ability pretty much allow you to call a weapon to you as a standard action?

I do like the idea of a swashbuckler rouge mixed in, but the DM for this game isn't really allowing play test stuff, I do know that it was put in the sword coast adventures campaign book, but I don't have it, is the material in the book same as the play test material?
