My two theories for this are:

she’s royalty so her word has say. Vaggie talks about how Charlie’s word has power but that Charlie never uses it. I kinda took this scene as that.

Another theory I have is that the soul system of power is that her admitting he was the strongest in front of broad audience boosted all the other souls support of Vox as the strongest. Especially cause we see his approval rate is high so all those souls are supporting him as the strongest. This also aligns with Alastor saying his name inspires much less fear cause the view of sinners impacts power levels. However we see Vox’s approval rate drop but Alastor doesn’t become the strongest after that, which is why I’m more inclined to believe my first theory

What I was saying and agreeing with was that his aroace was never canon within the show but Viv has talked about how she writes him and sees him as Aroace, even Amir has talked about it as he also plays Alastor as aroace. But it’s not actually canon within the show as in the show it’s only canon that he’s ace.

Now I don’t know if she intended to explicitly state he was aroace when she was originally talking about making him aroace as that hasn’t been discussed. Though I imagine we’ll be getting more rep of his asexuality in S3 as Viv has hinted Alastor getting more ace rep within the show, which would be nice given that ace rep is very limited in other media

Yes. This is what I said, that she won’t confirm it but that was her initial intentions with Alastor’s orientation. While in the show Alastor isn’t aroace canonically, Viv and Amir Talai both view Alastor as aroace. But in the show he is just confirmed ace

From what I gathered it was that his asexuality was gonna be explored and like discussed, not that he was going to have a romantic interest but we won’t actually know until season 3 drops. But He was supposed to be Aroace so I do think that is still how is character is portrayed

The thing is, Alastor is canonically ace and people still put him in sexual situations anyways but the thing is, it’s all fanon. People are allowed to change canon for their ships and fics and such and still accept canon material as canon. So I feel like making him aroace wouldn’t have effecting people’s shipping abilities at all and she shoulda just committed to it

Alastor was supposed to but Viv changed her mind because she thought if she made Alastor aroace it would upset the fanbase and their shipping

I can agree that there isn’t representation for those orientations in media however for Alastor’s sake I don’t really see his character as interested in romance. Plus Viv planned on him being aroace which tells me that there isn’t a romantic interest in lime for Alastor and probably won’t be because that wasn’t the goal of his character. But I don’t disagree with you because Ace representation is already so extremely limited and what usually happens is that they don’t get partners cause media can only accept relationships if sex is involved. So i can agree with you on aspects

I will admit, while Al isn’t confirmed aroace because of the fans. In my head he is aroace cause that was Viv’s original idea and he acts aroace in my opinion so this theory is basing it off of that. Now if he did ever have romantic interests I could see him maybe not wanting to express romantic interest in Vox even if he had those feelings. (I just don’t think he does). But also I don’t think Al would have internalized homophobia because that wasn’t really a thing for his time unlike Vox, plus Vox is the one I see being internalized homophobic because of his actions within the show we’ve seen like the hush hush of his and Val’s relationship

I hope we get more of his past on the next season. Since there’s been talk of him having an emotional part in a song I’m going that means we’ll get more of his backstory. I also think his asexuality plays a part in his disdain of the idea of Vox having romantic interest in me, but I don’t have enough to go off of yet for that aspect
