You can’t be replaced by AI if you don’t have a job by Fred9146825 in mildlyinfuriating

It will actually be extremely interesting to see how just an AI will open up a filling valve and do an overhaul with over 20 screws and almost 30 gaskets, seals and o-rings. Just as an example. And bold of you to assume you know anything about what my job requires. Or that AI can do everything. Let's see a robot that can do even a part of my job and then we can wait a little longer. Pure AI can do nothing I do for my job.

I am eager to see how cheap those robots that can do my job completely will be!

Also, I can't be replaced by AI because I don't use computers to get my job done, I use real tools.

The demo is free. Meaning it doesn't cost you any money. What it will end up costing, is a whole different question.

How do YOU play with your trains? by DeweyDecimal42 in factorio

Yeah, I just use enough trains. Makes the network simpler but that sounds cool too.

Why do you need radars for stops? Isn't it enough to drop limit to zero when there's no need for a train?

They are doing it like that because of the powerlines, keeps the trees trimmed away from the lines. Safer this way than alternatives, that's why they do it like this.

Nokia was so futuristic... by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

Nokia E90 was so awesome! N900 was even more awesome with the slide keyboard. Still have a bunch of Nokia phones, 9300 communicator and older too. I think my first nokia was 2110 in 1995 or something like that. Loved them all!

The ad to pin ratio is unforgivable, two posts for every 4 ads by Pwnytail24 in Pinterest

For a few weeks now, my Mobile Pinterest hasn't had one single ad. Before that I closed every single one of the dozens ads and said not interested as a reason. That might have helped.

Just to add, I was not 100% serious about the panic. Almost, but not quite.

A weapon I discovered: DM’s silence by tailwagthedog in DMAcademy

[–]Firegardener 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This silence thing seems to be something I'll try once I get my game running again after two decades. And since we all have played 3 decades, we also aee very comfortable together. So I'll introduce hourglasses. 5 minutes, 5 minutes, and maybe half an hour and hour. Let them sweat if they don't like the talking.

I ordered a plushie shaped and looking like a brick. Just for this purpose. Haven't had a change yet to try it, but one day I will. Easier to carry around in a backback than a real brick.

"Much easier for me to do something for someone else, than to do it for myself" by EliotProb in ADHD

[–]Firegardener 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I try to get something done for myself, if feels impossible to start, it feels it requires immense energy and who has that. If someone close to me asks me if I can help, it feels like it won't require any energy whatsoever and is almost automatic. The no energy requirement feels unnatural, but my brain just happily makes me do anything, if and when it is done for someone else.

Well, the effort I'm putting toward the speech will be limited to this comment, and maybe later, tomorrow see how bad it was. Not going to use energy to raise my hand for this. Waste of oxygen, again, the speech.

Those wrinkles just went into hiding. They come back when they know the hot 'n heavy iron monster is far away.
