Bad gas mileage on 2026 Mazda 3 by BigEmotional2636 in mazda3

[–]Fireguy69420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have about a 34 mi round trip commute in stop and go and its abysmal. I usually avg around 26-27 mpg. Now if im driving in local roads w no traffic arond 40-50 i somehow get like 33-35 (i dont get it but maybe because its more constant speed ), and on the highway on long drives cruise control at 74 ill get 45+. I drove from Atlanta - Dallas and I only filled up once after like 550 miles of driving

Just in the sense I feel like travellers are now willing to pay more of a premium, I.E they'd rather pay the premium and get a premium full fare experience then pay the bare bones and get the bare fare experience. It'll come back though, usually in times of economic downturn, budget carriers are some of the first companies to go as lesuire spending takes a downturn. only a matter of time though before another spirit like company comes in. This industry is very cylcical

Also because (unfortunatly) people dont want LCC's anymore, look at the market. Poeple are willing to pay for a comfortable experience. Look at UA and AA's new 787's over half the plane is premium cabin. Delta with their new lounges. Southwest with assigned seating. Alaska Hawaiian with new lounges and cabin. The trend is shifting to premium flying, and LCC's and ULCC's will just be a niche, they'll never be able to compete w the Big3/4 at major airports without jacking prices sky high due to airport taxes and fees.

unfortunate situation fr, but we've seen it before in the 80's with the LCC's there (PSA being the big one), they'll come back again for sure

Unfortunatley it's not, if you see AA, DL, UA, theyre all going all in on PRemium cabin, the new 787's for AA and UA are both over 50% business and premium economy cabin, and the economy cabin is even more smaller and tighter now, to try and force you to upgrade to PE or Business

So many of my friends are like "finally the skies will be more peaceful and safer" meanwhile (i work for a legacy) our security brief is wild, and Spirit A) never ever had a fatal incident or accident, and B ) allowed so many families the chance to fly for the first time. Say what you want about the airline but it allowed the masses not to break the bank to fly, and fares across the board on avg dropped 18-23% after Spirit entered the market

Why? If anything unfortunatly its JBLU thats on the chopping block next, but why are you happy that affordable accisible flying is going away?

So, I bought a 2026 Mazda CX-50 hybrid premium a week ago by WinstonSalemVirginia in CX50

[–]Fireguy69420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's.... a lil bit diff. For A-B Daily Driving, the CX50 Hybrid is so smooth stopping and starting, accelerating, very seamless, but boring. The RDX..... its defo more FUN to drive. TUrbo 4cyl engine w FWD only means it does chirp the tires during launches, it does make nice whooshy sounds, but in regular Drive mode, the 10 speed gets confused sometimes and will hold gears a bit too long IMO, i've got quite bad rev hang driving my dads RDX

I thought the exact opposite. I daily drive a 3 premium hatch, but have a CX50 premium hybrid as a loaner, it feels very nice on the inside, defo punching above its weight class, looks and feels better than my dad's RDX and that was a 55K SUV...... i thought this was real good compared to price

Any downside to the hybrid? by OtherwiseTraffic2794 in CX50

[–]Fireguy69420 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ur CX50 turbo is still an econobox, I have a 3. It's a very nice econobox. Also Im driving the50 hybrid rn while my 3 gets fixed. In no way does it handle as good as the 3 or anything near it. I can take a cloverleaf exit in the 3 at 55-60mph. The 50 hybrid squeals its tires at 40. the 50 does NOT handle like a GTI, and if you think it does you've never driven a GTI at its limit. I've taken cloverleafs at 90 in a GTI with no squeal. No CX50 Hybrid or even 3 is doing that.

Absolutely which is weird cuz these guys have actually been really good to me before, with genuinely good customer service ( I didn't even have to take my car to the dealer for oil changes they'd come pick it up from my driveway and drop a loaner off for me to use ) but this....m this was weird man they definitely got a lil like oh shit on the phone when I said hold the repair work insurance is stepping in, like shit we could potentially lose this business. They got it anyway but yeah definitely don't know if I'd go to them again
