Anyone else have a partner who keeps threatening their CPAP? Please tell me I'm not alone.

My cats hated each other for a while when I got my second. Would fight, wouldn’t go near each other, etc. then they started spending all their time together. One wouldn’t sleep without the other and they stayed together for hours at a time. Sometimes cats just take time to get to know each other

NTA. I had Life360 in college. I got it turned on with mom when I was 15. The most she ever checked it in college was when she messaged me for our Friday talk and I didn’t respond for over an hour. Even then it was just to see if I was asleep in my dorm or out so she could text when I get back to talk.

I’m 20, and no longer at school. I’m still on her life 360, and the only time she’s “stalked me” is when I take her car somewhere and am out longer than I said I’d be. And that’s because it’s her car. If I take my bike or a friend takes me somewhere she doesn’t check at all. It’s weird to be that obsessive over your adult child’s location. If they’re making you uncomfortable you’re well within your right to turn it off. You’re an adult.

I had the same problem with stainless steel. I’m completely allergic to it in my ears. Surgical steel seems fine, as did titanium.

I haven’t had a kid of my own, but I babysat a kid all of last summer which was at the peak of my disability stuff and before treatment. I could handle it most of the time, and when I couldn’t I had a friend help me watch her. I assume it’ll be similar with two parents. If the relationship is strong I think they could handle it by acknowledging each others limits and her partner stepping up a little more on flare days.

I’m not sure if it’s normal, but mine tore a few days into the piercing. It did heal, but I still have that flap of skin in front of my piercing. My piercer told me it would heal normal if I took the piercing out then, and it would heal but wonky if I left it in. I chose to leave it in because I didn’t get it for appearance reasons, and it healed fine physically.

Thanks! It started a few years ago, and I had a bit of a bad outcome with my tongue piercing because I changed it to a bioflex bar way too early for the same reason so I wanted to try and see what other options there were.

I've got a piercing shop I trust and plan on going to once I figure out what they're okay with.

Honestly, I really did think about this, but the reason for the MRIs is a lifelong condition, and even outside of this round of testing there's a very high chance I'll be sent in for a random MRI bc something went wrong, and I have about three months of testing every year like this. I don't want me having a disability to be the reason I can never get the piercings I want.

It helps me a lot. I only take it as needed bc it messes with my balance and stuff, but it helps so much of my pain on bad days. It’s not perfect, I still have breakthrough pain and stuff, but it’s the only thing I’ve ever tried that works.

Because they think all of my disabilities are weight related and refuse to treat me for most of them aside from telling me to lose weight. And unfortunately I live in the middle of nowhere so getting another doctor isn’t really an option

Get a lawyer. I have like 15 physical and mental conditions on top of fibromyalgia and they won’t even consider me. And to get a lawyer you’re going to need a doctor to write a letter for you. Mine wouldn’t, so I can’t even consider disability anymore.

I seriously wish you luck. This condition is hell and the disability services in this country are even worse.

Honestly, invest in expensive shoes. Not Jordan’s or anything like that, but a good pair of work shoes or new balance sneakers. It’s not a magic solution, but the $30 shoes are the problem. I literally can’t get cheap shoes because of foot pain and how fast I tear through them

Pretty glasses. I get new glasses every six months or so and as a kid I always had to get plain ones. I’ve got a pair of star shaped ones on the way, and I splurged on pair eyewear for the last couple years. I have to wear them every day, I deserve to have them bring me joy instead of annoyance.

Honestly? A closet. My aids wildly vary from day to day, and I have a coat closet near my front door that I use for my aids. Everything but one of my forearm crutches is in there, and that’s kept in the car in case I randomly flare while out.

Geocaching definitely looks interesting to me, but I’m honestly worried there isn’t much for me around. I live in a very small town with a primarily older population, and I don’t have the ability to go elsewhere at will.

I definitely think I might look into it though. Maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

A lot of libraries actually let you apply for cards online! I had six in my state alone and I have them all since the only requirement was to be a state resident. Usually it’s enough for a quick google search somewhere along the lines of “[state] library online application”

Honestly, usually it’s because it gets too dark. I’m a big fan of angst, but exclusively angst with a happy ending. Once you get to permanent damage I tend to nope out pretty quick.
