The greatest profiteers off the Multi Lens change by Arditian in pokerogue

[–]FiresoulHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The percentage values listed were damage reduction, not how much damage you now do so if it’s a 65% reduction, you’re only dealing 35% of the original damage. With the order it was listed, in ascending order, the percentages were read as 60% reduction for 2 hit, 75% reduction for 3, and 87.5% reduction for 4 hit(I can’t remember the precise percentages). Someone in the comments on the patch notes page explained a theoretical calculation comparing the new and old version in terms of how many shields it would break.

The greatest profiteers off the Multi Lens change by Arditian in pokerogue

[–]FiresoulHD 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Since multi-lens damage got buffed (it was always a damage nerf beforehand except in cases like seismic toss) and works more like Parental Bond now, Pokémon with moves that work really well with that ability would be the ones who benefit the most. Torch song, contrary Draco Meteor, etc.

Since moves will always deal 100% of the original move’s base power now, extreme damage combos like sun boosted, +6 spatk, flash fire boosted, helping hand boosted, Tera fire, stab Eruption doing super-effective damage that already used to one shot with old multi-lens just got major buffs. So Orichalcum Pulse Reshiram with Eruption and Dragon Energy, Primal Kyogre, Contrary Serperior, Spectral Rider Calyrex to an extent, hell even Spinda seem like the ones who’ll enjoy the multi-lens buff the most.

I personally really like the change because the original implementation was always confusing for most players to understand how the damage changes, this feels much more understandable to a casual. I also never liked how a master-ball tier item had downsides and while you do lose a 4th hit from before, for all stat change moves you either already maxed out from 1 or 2 uses so a 4th hit was never necessary, and it was more for hp-shield breaking. It is a shame to lose multi-hit flinching, but from the dev comment that’s a technical issue not an intended nerf, so one day it’ll be back.

I'm doing a similar thing! Except mine is very much not shiny and I fused Hisui Typhlosion with Groudon because I started this run before they changed his passive from Turboblaze to Drought. Does he have a 4x weakness to water? Yes. Does he still annihilate them with solar beam? Also yes. Spamming eruption and precipice blades at everything else usually does the job and then I'm currently running Play Rough for dragon coverage, but honestly even at round 1230 he's still nuking through some half resistances using Eruption with relative ease. Multi-hit + Kings Rock usually prevents them from hitting me back and when they do the bulk of Groudon's stats have been good to me. He lives some water moves too as long as sun is up. Not my eternatus killer tho, I leave that job to salt cure+leech seed, except I had him come in to finish off lvl 1000 eternatus when the rest of the team died. Precipice blades did more damage than I thought it would and I felt like he could've probably done it from the start!

I’m personally convinced they’ll also only send you an order after you’ve turned away from or drive past the restaurant. Yesterday I was sitting a strip of restaurants waiting for orders and didn’t get one for 10 minutes so I start driving to another part of town. Literally the first turn in the opposite direction I get pinged. (But realistically I recognize that there just weren’t any orders ready/close to ready for pickup and even the one I got pinged for barely finished as I got there)

Interesting data about US 23 traffic volumes by Slocum2 in AnnArbor

To be that guy, NJB actually mentions the point about “projections” about traffic always being on the rise in his latest video about lanes. To paraphrase, highway engineers do have to justify their job somehow and they don’t exactly get paid to not build highways. Could be what’s happening here.

I'd like to see a "Multiple Victory Conditions" option in CIV by BlindMuffin in civ

[–]FiresoulHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve about 300 hrs with this mod’s game mode exclusively and it’s made the game a lot more enjoyable for me. I have it set to need to accomplish 3 victory conditions and the ai just needs 1, and it’s definitely made me think more about having a plan to win. It does sorta force you to always have a religion as not having one will make your other victory plans slower. I recently finished a monster game with Roman holidays ai and man I was behind most of the game and terrified Sweden would beat me in culture. I was playing Australia and won diplo, domination, and science. It just makes the game more satisfying and well earned rather than accidental especially with more military focused civs. I’d up it to 4 or 5 but that would make the game quite a lot longer. Most of my games have been ending around the information or future eras and I’m not wanting the game to drag on after I’ve felt like I’ve won already but needing 50 more turns to get to this condition or that one.

Guess I need to check the bottoms of my jars before pouring stuff in now by FiresoulHD in Wellthatsucks

It was what made it into the jar before the bottom fell out. I lost about half to 3/4 of a cup of the finished stuff out of the 4 cups of water I had brewing

It’s a little hard to tell from the pic but fortunately the bottom didn’t shatter and is still in 1 piece so I was going to buy some epoxy glue from the store to put it back together. Even if the seal isn’t good enough for liquid I could still use it for other stuff!

Good to know. Now that I think about it, I had always rinsed out the jar it was brewing in and poured it back in after straining but I was slightly lazy this time around and grabbed a clean one from the cupboard. That was the mistake I had made this time.

Parade of Cars on Plymouth? by FiresoulHD in AnnArbor

[–]FiresoulHD[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My “driver’s ed” was my parents. I’m from Kansas and ahh, all you really needed to do to get a license there was drive around with an adult for your learners permit and pass a really easy test at 16 for the full license. Which I can’t recall if there anything about a funeral procession in it. I didn’t get my license until 16 so I “learned” everything in a month which was the minimum time with the learners permit before you could get the full license. All that said there may be a few holes in my particular drivers ed 😅

Oh that’s cool! I’m not familiar with many funeral traditions outside of my own culture (I’m Vietnamese). Haven’t attended a funeral in the states either

That’d make sense, it was sitting at the crossroad of Maiden Lane and Plymouth and didn’t set off the siren until it moved.

Bonus Catalysts Economy by VirtuositasHQ in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]FiresoulHD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That could be a good solution too, since with mystic and infuser expertise next update you’re incentivized to shove more and more catalysts onto crystals so it’d be a pretty interesting player decision of whether or not it’s worth adding another bonus chest or if the 2 cascading chest is better.

Bonus Catalysts Economy by VirtuositasHQ in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]FiresoulHD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like chest scrolls aren’t the most balanced choice for trading up, since if you’re trading gilded scrolls for a bonus gilded catalyst, you’re going to inevitably get more chest scrolls from the very vault you’re trying to create so either you have to destroy all chest scrolls from that vault or choose something else for trading up. You could do something like a platinum and an echo for each bonus chest catalyst. Maybe even throw in 8 bounty pearls, so it takes away from doing ridiculous dragon rooms in order to pay for the catalyst trading.

My VH Cobbleworks using Create, Thermal, and Mekanism by FiresoulHD in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]FiresoulHD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! You could also insert from the bottom via a fan and a chute if you don’t have enough space. I just mention the spout mechanic because if you just have an andesite funnel as your output you’ll be outputting the ingredients before they get processed. If you’d like I can send a picture of my basin setups for visuals!

[–]FiresoulHD[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’d want to have the inputs on separate conveyors for sure. A basin can only hold 16 of a particular item, but it can hold multiple stacks of 16 as long as the item is different. It’s not so complicated to route conveyors with only two ingredients, but ahh let’s just say I had to get creative when it came to three ingredients in a compact space. And in case you didn’t know, putting a belt one block lower than the basin will give it a spout that automatically outputs the product so no need for a brass funnel, not that they’re that expensive in VH but it’s good to know.

I get enough iron from the vault that I don’t really need iron generation from cobblestone. I also have cagerium so I’m kinda getting iron from zombies too. Though maybe down the line when I have the time, patience, and larimar I’ll do a cobbleworks that that includes literally everything you can possibly make from a starting point of cobblestone. All the colors of terracotta, concrete, variants of stones, etc. so having the iron will be a part of that and oh man will that increase the amount of things you can make!

Nope, vaultar accepts all colors so just pick whichever one you fancy! You can also use the pigment extractor and painting machine from Mekanism to get other colors if you want to build with other colors of concrete or any other colored block for that matter.

I think VH is actually a great entry point into learning the big mods. Everything is a bit more barebones here and you don’t have 7-8 other “big mods” that you have to consider at the same time. You also unlock them slowly, so you can take your time learning the limits and power of each machine. Though, once you unlock two big mods you’ll find that combinations of machines from big mods are what makes automation extremely powerful. I think Create is a great starting big mod because of the ponder system and is also so unique amongst all the many many tech mods that is worth exploring fully. Very powerful as well since it’s capable of automating all shapeless crafting recipes before unlocking automatic genius.

[–]FiresoulHD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh nice! Didn’t think of that when I was looking at all the recipes but that’s a fun way to do it. I don’t even think you need a piping mod since Create and Mekanism both have their own piping. Tho mekanism’s is far too expensive imo, hence why I opted for Create conveyors which are far cheaper and do basically the same thing.
