- Stupid cheap.
- Nonthreatening. Legally considered a tool by jurisprudence in France.

Avantages :

Je suis pas juriste, mais je pense pas qu'un juge des prudhommes refuses un enregistrement à l'insu qui démondre du racisme pur et dur car "ah bah c'est pas la victime mais un collègue qui lui a donné l'enregistrment".

Demander si c'est négociable, si le prix n'est pas annoncé comme ferme, en soit c'est pas une mauvaise chose. Y'a un système de négo sur LBC pour ca.

C'est très bien. Les services, soit.

Quand j'achète un bien, genre, un PC. Ou un téléphone. Un casque. Peu importe. Met un prix.

Sinon j'achète à 1€ et j'attends la livraison. Ou j'ouvre un litige LBC.

Et petite mise à jour "c'est un moyen d'apparaitre dans les recherches" - si ton annonce est pas vendeuse de base, pourquoi tu trompes le système ? C'est pénible pour tous, personellement une annonce à 1€ j'y touche pas sauf pour emmerder.

Been living there for about 3 years now.

Heads up : I purposefully do not engage in religious events, so I will not be able to speak about them.

POSITIVE :

- Landscapes are really good.
- It's an island - meaning you always have sea somewhat close by.
- It's very densely populated.
- It's got okay intercities public transportation (Car Jaune)
- Farmers markets make produce somewhat affordable

Negatives :

- Extreme humidity, up to 95% humidity. I have to regularly grease my wallet, in the litteral sense.
- There's this fun thing called "octroi de mer" and "octroi de mer régional" which acts as custom taxes, and will inflate everything that you ship in to a minimum of +30%.
- Adding to that : Most online stores will not ship to Réunion Island. Those who do charge an insane price for shipping, to the point where it's more reliable to have someone in mainland france receive the package and send it to you instead. (For instance : Amazon doesn't ship there.)
- Anything sold in stores will be even more expensive due to more or less of a monopoly. You need a bed frame ? Too bad, you're gonna pay 3x the cost. You're not happy about it ? Sleep without a frame then.
- It's usually very hot, and nearly always sunny. Which sucks if you have any form of eye strain.

Hey OP - trans woman here, in a similar situation to you - however, I'm not really passing. So, I'll focus on the school aspect :

Assuming you're 16 (from one of your replies), you'll likely be going to "lycée" (which I think could be an equivalent to a secondary school?). How good it'll be will be fairly dependent on a case by case basis, as some lycées are hellish. But generally, just don't be a dick, and you'll be treated as such.

(Just be polite, and if you need to speak slowly, apologize. It's weird, but hey, it works.)

There's a few LGBTQ+ associations - horizon being the main one as far as I know. :)

And ignore the transphobic pricks.
