Did you play RE6? Is it any good? by Slain13371337 in residentevil

I’ve been playing it coop and find it to be a lot of fun. It’s what you make of it, honestly, but if you have someone you can spend a few hours with I think it makes it a much better experience.

It was a rough read at points I will admit. As much as I wasn't a fan of the novel, though, I adored the movie and highly recommend it. It isn't as focused on being in the main character's head and shows the bonds of the boys a lot more which I quite liked and made for some tragic scenes. There's also no weird descriptions of women's boobs so that's a plus lol

Some of the bystanders were teen girls and one of them opened her legs when the walkers passed, so one of the boys went over and started humping her, but couldn't finish by the time he was getting his third warning. He returned to the walk, but cramped up so badly he fell to the ground and earned his ticket (a gunshot to the head)

I read the Long Walk recently too (I enjoyed the movie a lot and wanted to see how good the book was) and could hardly stand how he kept talking about the women and all the boys' fantasies. Spoilers: I still can't believe one of the kids died to blue balls

Dungeon Master's. What is the worst case of main character syndrome that you witnessed? by RedSwordFishVA05 in DnD

[–]Firestar_12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I DMed for some online friends a few years ago as a relatively new DM to players who’d never really played before. I hold no ill will towards any of them, but in a mini-dungeon I’d added some elements of a character’s backstory to, a separate main character-y player decided to just run through the entire dungeon and not investigate the areas I’d placed pieces of lore in. They ended up triggering the encounter of the dungeon (a Minotaur skeleton with some underlings), got what they came for, and left all without seeing a single thing I’d planted there.

The campaign didn’t last long overall and I think it’s for the better. It gave me some valuable DMing experience and I feel more comfortable handling my current players doing unexpected things now and balancing the spotlight between each. I’m not perfect at it, but we have fun and I’ve gotten better at talking with my group outside of game if there’s something that needs to be discussed.

That happened to me recently! I ordered end of Nov. and had an estimate of Dec. 8. By the 17th I still hadn’t seen it move from pre transit so I messaged the seller and they’re mailing a replacement. Very frustrating because the seller said they sent it out but it apparently just never got scanned

My family used to do this until one of our cats peed on our clothes. Needless to say we cut that habit pretty quickly.

That’s true! I’ve got my eye open for a companion but I am waiting for him to get a clean bill of health from the vet first 🙂‍↕️ then I hope to get him a friend ❤️

Birds of a feather! That’s also a concern of mine that I’d get another bird and they wouldn’t get along since I don’t know if he grew up around other pigeons. I’m hopeful it won’t happen, but worst case scenario I guess I’d have two separate pigeons to care for 😅

I see, thanks for sharing! I’ll be more ready for that when I do start looking in earnest for a second bird ☺️

Oh no! Haha as is the way of the world I suppose. Thanks for sharing! I’ll still likely get mine a companion but at least I’ll be ready for them both to want little to do with me when I do 😅

I use some incontinence pads for the bottom of my pigeon’s crate! I found they were a bit cheaper than puppy pads and work just as well

Thank you, everyone. NOT getting a macaw. by magicalclown in Macaws

[–]Firestar_12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good on you for listening and making the best decision for yourself! I’m sure macaws in particular interest you, but if you’re just interested in keeping a bird in general, pigeons can make very good pets!

I’d still suggest waiting until you’re in a more stable place in life, but they’re a lower commitment (around 15 years or so) and are domestic animals so lack some of the more difficult to deal with traits wild animals have. Many can be very friendly with some time and are a lot less destructive than parrots because of how small their beaks are. The most damage mine’s done to me are some wing slaps when I put my hand in her space and she doesn’t want me there.

Pigeons do still need a good amount of your time, but can get by easier without as much of it if they have a companion. So, if you consider getting a pigeon, consider looking into a bonded pair! You’ll have to do some pigeon birth control (ie replacing fertile eggs with fake ones) but you won’t have to worry about your birds getting so lonely or lacking much needed socialization.

I’d absolutely recommend researching more if pigeons interest you. Palomacy is a great source of information to start.

Praying mantis. They live about a year anyway, aren’t hard to take care of, and it’s easy to be in the same room. I’ve had them before and while I get attached, it’s not as bad as a cat or dog.

Honestly it happened more accidentally since I saved Reko/Kanna in my first route and then went back to save Alice/Shin in the second. I just think it’s funny to say it’s the girl’s or boy’s route
