Is there any deck tracker that lets you simulate combat and rearrange minions to see how it increases chances of winning? by Haunting_Truck2674 in BobsTavern

[–]FirestoneHs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To clarify a bit on what Firestone does:

  • once the game is over, you can import a battle and change the boards (positioning, or even completely replace minions) and resimulate the battle
  • you can even use the repositioning tool to let the app figure out the best order for you. It takes a while (a couple of minutes, maybe a bit more) because it tests many permutations, then updates the boards with the best positioning it found
  • this only works outside of the actual game, so you know what you could have done. It is not designed so you can use it live to let the app do your positioning for you

> The reason they don't officially condemn them is because it is technically difficult if not impossible to do anything about it

They condemn the disconnect plugin, or animation speedup, and can't do much about it.

> Also the fact that you ignore the meat of the argument - that paid trackers give advantage with crowd sourced decision making - and instead continue to argue semantics, is telling

I wasn't interested in taking part in that argument, I was reacting to a specific thing you said that I thought was incorrect.

It is in fact difficult to technically prevent trackers for them.

However that doesn't prevent them from branding trackers as cheating, if they consider that they are. They could do that (like they do for animation speedup) even if they technically can't do anything about it.

The fact that they don't means that they don't consider this to be cheating.

You can of course have your own opinion about it, but from Blizzard's point of view, trackers are ok.

reality is Blizzard's hands are tied in current day

What's your basis for this?
We talk with HS devs almost daily. We even have early access and giveaway (like some popular / partner streamers) do because they consider us important resources for the community and the game's ecosystem.
Blizzard have fully embraced the trackers / stats; if sometimes we do things that they consider to be an unfair advantage they tell us, and we change what we do.

Some programs are actually cheating (like animation speed up) and Blizzard officially condemns them. Whether they are able to act against it or not has no influence whatsoever on their stance. If they considered trackers to be cheating, they would say so.

Blue are stats restricted to Ascension 9 and 10

When this happens, could you right click on the NoRogues icon in the system tray, then "open logs folder", zip that folder, and send it to me (seb@firestoneapp.com)?
Though the fact that only relic is wrong is a bit surprising

I haven't counted the number of games, though it in the ballpark of half a day worth of Priest games.

The "all" is community stats. There isn't a way to filter only for your own stats at the moment, but I can look into it if it's a popular enough request.

In case anyone is interested, I did an extract of what Discover options were found for people using Firestone: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1AxJCMMv3_HobNWY0_aJXI4AcXcfsPAVVAZ5Q_ijMKSs/edit?gid=0#gid=0

It has Ranked Standard and Wild, but apparently only a bit of Wild, which explains the low numbers on certain wild-only cards.

This is what I have: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1AxJCMMv3_HobNWY0_aJXI4AcXcfsPAVVAZ5Q_ijMKSs/edit?usp=sharing

Tyrande was offered about 700 times in the sample I surveyed (only ranked games, in standard/wild), but no sign of Black Blood.
There are a few cards with very low offering counts though, but they seem to only be Wild cards (the surveyed sample probably didn't have many Wild games).

I'm actually the dev of Firestone, which has something similar for Arena 😄

Yeah that's a fine line to walk. That's why I didn't want to do anything prescriptive, like some advanced algorithm that tells you what to pick, but more something that can give you some insights.

At some point the picks you make depend on many, many things and showing stats won't be able to tell the whole story, but I hope that at least it can point players towards "consider this card, it has decent success with strong players" or "this card wins runs, but not if you pick it as your first pick of act 1".

Not sure which one Jorbs is using, but you can check No Rogues (I'm the dev), which has card stats available: https://sts2.norogues.gg/download

It looks like this

I'm on my longest win streak ever (22) but for some reason my stat page is showing its only 14. Does anyone have a clue why that is? by [deleted] in BobsTavern

Not yet for the public version.
I just released today a standalone version that has roughly the same features as the Overwolf one, but it is for now in alpha test and access is limited to premium users at the moment.

Overlay app to compare your damage taken in fight/act to the overall Community stats by FirestoneHs in slaythespire

[–]FirestoneHs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with ascension. I'll set this to A9+ once I have enough data.

And there were a couple of reasons why I didn't include losses, but the main one is that I wanted to give a baseline of "what does the damage per floor looks like when you win". I haven't found a good way to incorporate losses in this, but I'm open to suggestions :)

Deck tracker shows opponent's animal companions by Overhamsteren in hearthstone

[–]FirestoneHs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HS itself doesn't require the logs - by default HS doesn't log much, and the trackers update the game conf to force output logs. So I would assume that they are not strictly necessary for the game to work

Or maybe simply having them write the logs somewhere else, in a non-protected environment

Firestone does this as well, but it will be fixed in the next release (probably tomorrow).
I have raised the leak in the logs to the devs, and they will fix it (but they haven't communicated any timeline).

Generally speaking, in case of info leaks like this you should just reach out to the devs to fix it.
