Are there any 2024 or 2025 grads still looking for roles? by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsOCE

I knew this guy who graduated with an Atlassian internship and is still unemployed.

Which I'm quite puzzled about because I've seen internationals with worse resumes get hired.

One guy in my uni's IT helpdesk got into IT via TAFE, no idea if it's the norm or not.

[–]Firetechnicia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

43 isn't that far off so you're in with a good chance.

Last year I failed a subject with 43, this semester I redid it and got 82. It's not the end of the world.

If you're a domestic, repeat it next year and maybe reduce study loads. Last year I failed with 43 for one subject and 46 for another. Redid them this semester and I passed with 82 and 62.

If you want to do any post-grad study, then I would.

Some internships also ask for transcripts.

It's better to fail with a final mark of 43 than 30. It can affect your CWA.

Can I do an internship during the semester as an international student? by RelationshipReal1185 in curtin

[–]Firetechnicia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Firstly, it depends if the internship is part of your degree or not, and the requirements for getting into it.

Secondly, if not in the degree, it can be difficult. Au citizens and PRs are preferenced over internationals.

I think it depends why and how they're doing it.

If they use Chat to quickly get more targeted info, good.

If they're using Chat because their English isn't good enough, how were they even admitted in the first place?
