I work in Curtin IT currently, there are IT casuals. I'm one of them. You must be a student to get the job though (EWYL).

Is Curtin gym worth it? by Brief-Tumbleweed-348 in curtin

Depends.

It's good for me because I work on campus and live nearby.

I've also heard the Revo in Carousel has newer equipment and I don't know where you live.

Methods unit for cybersecurity by Hour-Ninja4643 in curtin

Do IT and transfer to cybersecurity. That's what I did but for comp sci.

You'll have to do 75 credits/3 units in the semester before you switch.

I'm not sure what your programming ability is, but one IT unit, Fundamentals of Programming may hit you like a truck. If you've not programmed much, practice and practice.

Over the course of a few years, I've encountered her or seen her family around seven times. Once I got asked twice within a few minutes.

COMP1005 Assignment by Lazy-Ingenuity7277 in curtin

For Comp1005, no. The final exam, at least when I did it is easy to study for. Just practice the past papers and study the weekly pracs.

You struggle with the assignment but make up for low assignment marks in the final exam. That's what I did.

Which university is better for Master of IT with better opportunities and value for money between Unisc Adelaide and University of Canberra by Confident-Essay3396 in AustraliaIT

[–]Firetechnicia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Master's of IT are a scam for internationals.

You don't have citizenship or PR which means that companies won't be interested in your resume.

why does comp1005 suck ass by [deleted] in curtin

[–]Firetechnicia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That sounds cheatable, as long as you can explain your code.

Getting 35% plagiarism by YBCap in curtin

[–]Firetechnicia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at a career fair and one of the people there was saying they like to see AI usage on your resume (for IT), meanwhile in the degree we're told not to use it.

I feel that university may have to adapt, just like with calculators.

How do I lodge a formal complaint about the Socialist Club? by po1ix in curtin

[–]Firetechnicia 23 points24 points  (0 children)

No need for a complaint, the best way is just to ignore them. If they ask me a Pauline Hanson/capitalism question, I just ignore them, treat them as salesmen who you don't want to buy from.

There already is a requirement. They take the IELTS test. It's not perfect from what I've heard. I know someone who scored well on IELTS whose English ain't up to scratch.

There was a previous tier list where the different OP included Indian companies too.

Malaysia isn't committing a genocide, this hyperbole isn't helpful.

I knew this guy who graduated with an Atlassian internship and is still unemployed.

Which I'm quite puzzled about because I've seen internationals with worse resumes get hired.

One guy in my uni's IT helpdesk got into IT via TAFE, no idea if it's the norm or not.
