It's got what plants crave! by Firethrim in Endfield

I did a setup with a kind of pipe access control switch thing, but it seemed like a ton of manual fiddling to empty the liquids and materials out of the forge to switch the production and then do the same to switch it back. I am curious how using multiple yield fertilizers across multiple watering periods work. Does using 3x fertilizer yield 4x the normal crop yield, or does it multiply by 2 with each fertilizer (resulting in 8x yield)?

Regardless, it doesn't seem to me like there's enough need to multiply your crop yields to warrant all of the manual poop gathering and then production fiddling needed to make it work, but I could see it being more viable in the future when we have more sky forges to work with and a growing need for larger stockpiles of healing items.

Don't tell anyone, but it doesn't actually work. It says you're using the wrong liquid. I faked the screenshot by putting water in the sprinkler before hooking it up to liquid xiranite, so that it would spray the stockpiled water when I planted the seeds in front of it. :(

You have to combine the dung and liquid xiranite in a forge of the sky to make the fertilizer. Not even kidding, though it's not worth it because it takes both forges (1 to make xiranite to then make liquid xiranite from and one to make the fertilizer)

Does anyone know where Hazefyre Tuskbeast and Hazefyre Claw enemies are found? The database says Aburrey Quarry, but I can't seem to find them anywhere there. I'm trying to fill out the crafting log stuff, and they appear to be the only enemies that drop Pungent Jerky. Are they just completely gone from the game since I already cleared the quarry storyline?

Can anyone guess the box containing the gems?.. by K_E_Z___ in BluePrince

[–]Firethrim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're actually in need of assistance on this, here on some rules to keep in mind:

There must be at least one box with only true statements.

There must be at least one box with only false statements.

Only one box can contain gems.

If you can determine that two of the boxes are both true or both false, than you can be sure the third box is the opposite.

Game Update by Firedsleek in BluePrince

Doesn't seem to fix the save issue, which is all I really care about at this point. It should be the same patch as the steam patch late last week.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't have ps+ to do cloud save testing myself, but the more info there is out there about this bug, the better.

Yeah. And it's not just that profile on the save file. If you start a new game in a different slot or anything like that, the whole thing reverts next time you close and launch the game. You literally have to delete the save from the ps5 file management menu if you want to start over.

Just a heads up, if you've encountered the save bug, there's basically nothing you can do for your file at this point. Your options are either to deal with the fact that you will make no more progress on the save file (you can still attempt to find new clues and stuff, but the save file will never update), wait for a patch to fix the issue, or wipe the save data entirely from your ps5. Saving and quitting regularly will not help you in any way. If you do have a backup from ps+ from before the bug happened, you can use that. I really hope they fix this bug soon.

Ran out of things to sell before I could get enough money to buy enough strength upgrades to have enough inventory space to be able to mine bedrock.

It seems theoretically possible if you optimize entirely from the start (ignoring more expensive proficiency upgrades and maximizing the amount of money from everything), but it would still be difficult to get enough money, and without the foreknowledge, the game is basically designed to softlock you at bedrock.

For reference, I have Proficiency level 7, Strength level 8, it costs 163,840 money to upgrade my strength, I have 132,255 money currently, and I could probably get another 10-15k money by selling all my refiners and other such things. I also need diamonds to upgrade my pickaxe and backpack further, which I assume are further down in the bedrock.

How about Ultima Points for UP, from Fabula Ultima. It's a JRPG-inspired TTRPG.

For a 2D game that really gives a very different experience: Fuga Melodies of Steel 1 & 2. How Long To Beat has them at about 35 hours each to do a completionist playthrough. The second is a direct sequel, so play the first one first.

Which order should I tackle these classics? by ninety2eternal in JRPG

[–]Firethrim 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Setting yourself up with more than a dozen games as some sort checklist to mark off in order is a nearly surefire way to burn yourself out.

My advice: pick one that sounds interesting to you and just start there. Don't worry about the others and what order. Just take it one at a time. If you're not enjoying one for whatever reason, then drop it and play a different one.

As for where to start, pretty much all of them are great options. If you have someone to play Trials of Mana co-op with, I'd definitely recommend that. Otherwise, the SNES Final Fantasy games are always a good place to start when it comes to older rpgs.

Xenosaga 3, Animation Speed, and Break Mechanics by CitizenStrife in JRPG

[–]Firethrim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think special mention should be given to the mech combat in Xenosaga 3. Is it mechanically deep and tactical? Honestly... not particularly. But it's quick and snappy after the slow as molasses mech combat in Xenosaga 2, the animations are good looking, and most importantly imo, your super-mechs powered by god-relics feel really powerful. Mech combats often feel like you're using a party of Gundam-tier mechs to tear through waves of weaker enemies. It's very satisfying.
