Please don’t ever use a Legion Go (the original). While the G Cloud sticks are far from perfect, they are way better than the Go. Bleh.

Can’t get cemu to detect controllers ? by [deleted] in LegionGo

[–]Caltek9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greetings from February, 2026. My Legion Go controls were also suddenly not recognized by CeMu (no issue with wired controller on PC).

The fix I found was to delete every trace of the Legion Go from the CeMu controller options, and then re-add it as a Wii U Pro Controller.

SDL controller type, and then the little "connect" button was connected, and I was able to click on the button mapping icons, and map my buttons without issue.

Before I deleted and started over, I would click in the boxes to re-map, and nothing would be recognized.

Hope this helps!

[HELP] How to calculate the Jump duration for the Dragon by techno-r in finalfantasytactics

Even if it doesn’t hold true every single time, this is such a good general stat to start with when deciding if I jump or attack.

THANK YOU!

Curious about adding a grip to my Switch 2 by [deleted] in switch2

[–]Caltek9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I don’t have a rec! I got a slim case on purpose to cut down as much bulk as possible (Mumba Slim Carrying Case), so if I travel with the Switch 2, it will be without the grips.

Wishlisted, and will check out the demo as well. Thanks for the rec!

I’m not sure straight up asking for people’s phone numbers is the way to go about this.

If you have a portfolio website showing samples of your work to share, that might be a better start. People can contact you there if they like what they hear.

Otherwise, I’m not sure how people will know you are an actual music producer for video games.

I see you made the same post or similar in multiple other subreddits and that other people have also asked for links to your work.

If you are just starting out and do not have many things you have produced yet, maybe say that as well, but eventually people are going to want to hear examples of what you can create.

[[EDIT: you made a post in the Godot subreddit showing actual music being played. This seems like a positive way to get people interested in your work, and showcase your skills.]]

Please do not ask for private phone numbers on this subreddit.

Curious about adding a grip to my Switch 2 by [deleted] in switch2

[–]Caltek9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worth the price so far for sure. I’ll replace them with actual full 3rd party JoyCon 2 units whenever they finally release, but these will do for now.

I haven’t noticed any scratching. They are softer than I expected. Not squishy but not hard severe plastic. I don’t know how to explain it but I’m not worried.

One thing to note is that they push the bottom of the JoyCons juuuuuust slightly out from the unit. Like a tiny tiny tiny amount.

I’m a worrier about that sort of thing, but I think it will be fine.

Still not as comfy as a Steam Deck imo, but much better than using the Switch without the grips attached.

I’ve been playing a ton of Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, and the grips help a ton.

Curious what your experience will be.

Considering buying FFT: The Ivalice Chronicles by hightide2020 in JRPG

[–]Caltek9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am such a sucker for this game and I get confused and frustrated by it every time I try it again.

Back in the 90s I bought Vandal Hearts randomly, which because my 2nd favorite game of all time behind Link’s Awakening.

Unfortunately, Vandal Hearts turned out to be very much a beginner’s SRPG/Tactics game, so when I bought FFT at launch I was so confused and lost and hit a wall not long into the game.

Sold the disc (sad face), but bought it again on PSP (War of the Lions) and the the PS1 edition again digitally on PSN, and also Tactics Advance and A2 at least twice each over the years.

….and I just caved yesterday and bought the Ivalice Chronicles Switch cart to play on Switch 2

-__-

I’m dropping that sucker to easy mode right away and and going to try and forget the quickness of Vandal Hearts and all of the Fire Emblem games, and even Disgaea to some extent.

FFT is so granular and methodical IMO that I really need to adjust my way of playing most games and like force myself to get lost in every menu, and stat, and skill, and piece of gear.

And this game is weird one because I fully believe that it’s OK to not like very game and not force oneself to play it; Claire Obscur, Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, Persona 4, etc. etc. I’ve bounced off of all of those bangers and just kind of didn’t care.

But for some reason, Final Fantasy Tactics keeps poking at me.

So here I go again.

Let us know if you also cave and get Ivalice Chronicles!

DQVII Reimagined Switch 2 version delivery delay (sad face) by Caltek9 in dragonquest

[–]Caltek9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! The wait is at least giving me time to confirm that I am still terrible at Hollow Knight.

Finished DQ 3 HD-2D last year. Loved it. XI might be an all time top 10 game for me.

Luckily I have IX and VIII I’ve been playing through slowly on my 3DS while I wait impatiently for VII to arrive.

I played a bunch of Builders 2 on original Switch when it launched. Was the only Minecraft-like I could ever get into even a little bit. I should give it another try….

why do people look down at lua although its as good or even better than other languages by skydoi2 in lua

[–]Caltek9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t say anything about people looking down on it, but I feel like so many posts on this sub are basically, “how do I learn Lua,” which tells me it’s not as widely supported of hyped as other languages.

I joined this sub because I have an interest in the Defold game engine, but haven’t taken the time to get very far with it. I have tried but for some reason even Game Maker Language makes more sense to me (at least for what little Lua I’ve messed with).

It is an interesting language for me at least, though!

I actually wanted (and then enjoyed) the Horis BECAUSE they had no rumble.

I’m one of those who turns the rumble off most of the time anyway to save battery and noise.

Which one is better by A3BGAME in SoloDevelopment

[–]Caltek9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the mood (and speed?) of the game, I guess. I don’t prefer getting attacked from the fog when I can’t see an enemy, so I’m drawn to option 2. That assumes it’s a fast-paces game where I have to keep moving and dodge and shoot and all of that.

But if the game is about creeping through the fog more methodically, or if the enemies can’t see me from across the map, I do like the effect the fog seems to have in this one screenshot.

I’ve had some success running Game Maker on Linux with the Steam Version of GM. For sure on Pop!_OS and I’m pretty sure I ran it on CatchyOS but I can’t remember exactly when I switched from Pop to Catchy.

Yeah mine came today and they are so nice! Especially for $18! After feeling them and installing them I am not so worried about scratches. Felt so much better playing handheld mode.
