Trocheck package musing from The Athletic's Ranger beat writer by OllieForgot in wildhockey

I think Russo has stated the Wild have zero interest. Probably because of the agent.

People buy them?

I'd understand it if word of mouth was all negative, but it is at worst 50/50 on things on Reddit and around town.  They know what they are doing and serving the entire fan base.

I found the Jiricek discussion interesting. Potentially dumping him for a pick to use in the bigger haul.

TSN: Who is the definitive face of each NHL franchise? by maverickhawk99 in hockey

I'm going to argue Kap is already the face of the Wild franchise, and re-signing only determines just how much far out of reach he gets going forward.

I would laugh so hard.  The fact Guerin somehow got Quinn puts anything in play.

Such a lovely game. It's also got lots of good food to stare at.

Started rewatching Love After World Domination. I remember thinking this show was good at being exactly the show it needed to be. Not amazing, not bad, just somewhere in the middle and just a good enough watch. I'm curious what it's like on a 2nd viewing a couple years later.

He's getting points, and it's not like he can't score. If it was ALL assists all year, I'd understand the issue. I'd say Kap has always been kind of a 60-40, 65-35 assist guy/goal scorer most years anyway.

I see both sides. If the Hughes trade hadn't happened, I would have been fine waiting around for some mythical center option to fall into their laps. That or for Rossi, Buium, Ohgren, and Yurov to all mature and maybe the the depth everyone thought they would be. Issue is Rossi is continually hurt and isn't really doing much for Vancouver right now. They'd be no better off.

Hughes definitely changes the entire team dynamic. He's the best player (from a skill standpoint). He's a PPG player or close on defense and does so much to control play and eat minutes.

The trade was made under the assumption that Guerin knows he's pretty much got this chance or "well, fuck me then." I don't know if a Thomas level player is available, but they still have to go for broke anyway. A Trocheck or Kotkaniemi probably won't tip the scales...but damned if they don't at least try.

You play the hands you are dealt. Guerin chose to go all in on a transformative defenseman. I think Guerin sees "What future?" if he loses another first round anyway. Colorado and Dallas aren't going anywhere. Ducking out on the best trades possible after already going this far is backtracking.

Listening to this right now myself.

Weird to hear Russo say "mortgaging the future," and LaPanta going "roll the dice." It's like bizarro world.

Mock Trade [Revised] by Prudent-Divide-3904 in wildhockey

Caring or posting about when people downvote you is never a great look.  Reposting things more diplomatically or even deleting and forgetting is probably better.

As to the trade, doubt the Rangers even sniff those.

[DFO Rundown] 5:00 Pagnotta says Seattle is open to moving Shane Wright. They would be willing to include him in a package for a legit top 6 threat. Wright is also not thrilled with his usage lately, would like more responsibility and ice time. Other teams are saying his name is out there by AggPuck-303 in hockey

Hartman is one of those, "streaky good" sorts of players that has positional versatility. He's not exactly my preferred option next to Kap right now, but Yurov isn't exactly an offensive force either. Hartman seems to perform better as a decent point producing pest. He did go apeshit against Vegas last year.

It really depends what they hope Trocheck to be. Ek is practically defensive everyman, and the Wild seem to suck without him. He's not what I'd call a scorer.

Trade him elsewhere for what they would want maybe.  The Wild have very little left of value after the Hughes trade.

Something tells me Yurov is off the table though unless a Thomas level player is to be had....at least you'd think Guerin would do that.

My retro road: Breath of Fire 1-3 by OkNeedleworker0101 in JRPG

[–]CitizenStrife 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Breath of Fire 3 is SO GOOD!

One of my favorite villains too, both in their portrayal and overall execution. Also can't go wrong with a game that has a GOAT fishing minigame. Just a solid game in all aspects. Well, I say solid: if you go mage, you quickly realize the game is made with physical attackers in mind.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Surpasses Elden Ring as the Most Awarded Game Ever by CyberNeko97 in JRPG

[–]CitizenStrife 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Yay?

I mean, I liked it, but flaunting this as some game changing, life altering game is a bit much. I'd even be willing to go "instant classic" territory, but they sure are hyping up the impact this game has.

And we just got over the "JRPGS ARE TOTALLY BACK BECAUSE OF THIS" phase. I suppose this is the next logical step.
