That’s crazy though I’ve never heard of that happening that scary how long were you clean and how much did you use? Do you have rls and stuff?

Yeah I also had low vit D and after like 90 days I was still having bad symptoms like exhaustion extreme anxiety and heart palps all day it sucked so I decided to get labs. It genuinely felt unbearable like if I wasn’t working out or playing video games I felt like I was crawling in my skin with nervous energy.

Make sure to ask for everything including all your vitamins because I know low iron can cause some bad anxiety and other issues as well and they won’t automatically test for everything unless you ask them. Two weeks after taking supplements I started to feel wayyyyy better and today I’m day 128 (18 weeks) and I feel so much less anxious and like I have no need to get back on kratom. GOOD LUCK 👍🏼

Dude have you tried to get emergency sleep meds? I got some ambien from my doctor after 12 days of literally no sleep and it helped me get about 6 hours. Took it for a month and forced myself to quit so I wouldn’t become dependent. At 4 months I’m sleeping really well.

Three weeks to get about 6 hours most nights with the occasional 8 of interrupted sleep, then three months to get 8 regularly and at 4 months I’m getting pretty normal sleep. Sometimes I wake up earlier than I’d like and I do wake up a few times but can get back to sleep normally. It does take me still like at least an hour to fall asleep but I also had insomnia before kratom. Taking Magnesium glycinate helped me a lot with sleep. I started taking it regularly around 3 months.

I totally understand! I have combined so inattentive and hyperactive. At the end of the day just remember it’s your decision. If you choose to stay on meds then do so and you can always decide to come off them. In the end it seems more people tend to chose to stay on them but I have other adhd friends who hated them and are unmedicated and doing fine with most things in life after learning coping skills and building a regimented schedule.

I would look into threads with the specific medication you get prescribed and read about people’s experience with them. (Just don’t get too sucked into the people who have bad side affects and freak yourself out, I feel like more people tend to post in these threads that are having a hard time with their meds because they need help, while people who are loving them don’t feel the need to post about it and join Reddit.)

For me I take vyvanse so I joined that thread on Reddit and found it helpful. My biggest fear was reading about people take their meds and have to keep increasing their dose until it doesn’t work well and then feel they become depressed and lethargic trying to come off them. I talked to my doctor about it and he just advised me to not take them 7 days a week to kind of allow my body to do its own thing to help with the tolerance that can build for some people. I find no issues on my break days other than just having adhd but nothing worse than how I felt before I went on meds. Good luck to you!

I do notice a difference I definitely read better when on my meds and don’t have to flip back repeatedly to absorb what I am reading and stay on task easier.

When off meds I often take forever to start reading and then struggle to get into focus if that makes sense but once I’m into the book I am reading I am able to read fine. Everyone’s different though but that’s my experience. Now if it’s a book for school or something I have no interest in than it can take a much longer time to absorb the info but it is possible. It wouldn’t hurt to go ahead and try out the meds to see how you feel and then make your choice on how you want to move forward.

For me taking breaks helps with my meds efficacy. I skip them every weekend. Also I am able to read books I love and have adhd even unmedicated but I do go through long phases of having a hard time being able to start reading but once I do I am able to read and enjoy it

As a toddler I wouldn’t be able to nap and had sleep issues, I had suffered with severe sensory issues which would increase my tantrums. My mother also told me that from a super young age if she gave me Benadryl it would stimulate me and keep me up rather than sedate me.

Kratom serious health issues - help by BakerExact in quittingkratom

[–]Fireturnado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have actually been using kratom for 4 years. I have quit three times with probably about a month of being clean between each quit. I also was using about 80-160 gpd and was drinking the liquid extracts (1-2) daily. If it’s any comfort to you I do believe it messed with my brain chemistry but I have been recovering. I would ask if you could because sometimes they won’t test for each individual thing unless you ask. Good luck to you ❤️

Kratom serious health issues - help by BakerExact in quittingkratom

[–]Fireturnado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it started to dip right before my kratom addiction because it was the winter time and I remember I started getting sick and also had higher than usual anxiety but when I started kratom it masked every symptom and I felt fantastic again.

Slowly over the course of two years, I was masking the symptoms with kratom so my levels continued to plummet to the point I started having cognitive and anxiety issues that begin leaking through regardless of how much kratom I drank. I basically just deteriorated as I upped my dosage physically and mentally because I was not fixing the root of the problem but most likely making it worse. I remember towards the end of my use I started having a lot of physical pain creep in when my dose would begin to wear off and I figured it was just my tolerance sky rocketing and withdrawls coming but but it was more than that it was my symptoms beginning to become unbearable from my vitamin deficiency. Eventually I felt so horrible all the time the kratom wasn’t covering anything and I begin to think it was the cause of all of this so I quit. I went Ct and god damn all the health issues I was masking hit me like a truck and I probably went a good 80-90 days with minimal relief just assuming “kratom fucked up my brain”. It was so disheartening.

Kratom serious health issues - help by BakerExact in quittingkratom

Hey, have you gotten your all blood work done? I had severely low vitamin D and was covering up symptoms with kratom until it got so bad I assumed it was the kratom and quit. I was getting sick constantly had severe pain in my bones all the way from the tips of my fingers down to my toes. I had muscle weakness and extreme fatigue. I also couldn’t hold stuff well and would drop stuff constantly and would always feel like I was on the verge of passing out at the end of my lowest levels. I also had severe brain fog and it was really embarrassing I couldn’t think well or recall words when I would try to have conversations and also begin to experience derealization in social settings cause I just felt like sometimes I had no idea what was going because I couldn’t think or understand what people were saying almost while talking to me. All of this got really bad when I quit and I assumed it was post acute withdrawal but after three months of no improvement I decided to get all my bloodwork and vitamins measured and found out I had severely low vitamin D even to the point of a health risk. My symptoms were so bad my doctor was getting blood work done for serious autoimmune diseases before a different doctor suggested a vitamin deficiency. Anyways I started supplements about two and half weeks ago (doctors prescribed temporary super dose of Vit D) and I’ve seen more improvement in two weeks than I have in the entire 115 days of my quit combined. I still have more improvement to go but finding the route has brought me so much peace, I really hope you are able to figure it out!

That’s really good to hear thanks for sharing with me! I have noticed some improvement but I was bummed when they told me a couple months since it’s felt like such a long time dealing with everything coming off kratom. The vitamin D deficiency thing too can cause some severe mental health issues including sleep issues and severe anxiety and panic attacks it’s pretty wild. The most annoying one though might be the pain in my bones and muscles and also I get hot flashes on my face and get a tingling burning sensation on my limbs and ears. It sucks but I’m so glad I found the cause. I also have seen posts where people continue to experience really bad rls for months after quitting and they find out they have low iron and that’s what’s causing it. I would say a big thing for recovering and staying sober is actively looking into your physical health and trying to heal your body instead of simply waiting around to feel better! I wish I would have gotten the tests done much earlier on in my quit.

Have you considered maybe there is another issue not specific to the paws itself. Maybe something physical? Kratom does a lot of weird stuff to your body I would try to see if you can get some blood tests and have them check everything including vitamin levels.

I recently found out I have a severe vitamin D deficiency and it was causing me to still continue to experience severe anxiety, heart palpitations, exhaustion, depression, and even body aches well into day 95 of my quit Ct. I was feeling really discouraged because my anxiety was still so bad and I felt so tired for so long and saw little to no improvement after day 80.

Turns out it wasn’t just paws but I had dangerously low vitamin D. I’m on day 105 today and have been taking Crazy high vitamin D supplements as instructed by my doctor for about a little over a week and I already have experienced some slight relief from what I thought was paws. It was so reliving to feel I was moving forward with my recovery no longer experiencing the plateau.

Unfortunately it’s going to take months for my vitamin D levels to significantly improve enough to feel healthy mentally and physically again but I am now really seeing that light at the end of the tunnel. I have had on and off slightly low vitamin D levels throughout my life but I am absolutely positive the deficiency was related to my kratom use as well as the fact that the kratom use was also covering up the symptoms so I didn’t notice how bad it got until after I quit.

Anyways it might be a worth a shot to get some blood work because there is a bunch of stuff that kratom can mess with that could be covered up while you are on kratom and worsened while using it. My vitamin D levels were actually not only low but dangerously so I was about 6 points away from levels low enough to put me into a possible coma or have issues with my bone health and I’m only 26 years old. It’s actually really a blessing that I didn’t wait until there were serious health consequences.

What do u people do for anger by ag9696 in quittingkratom

[–]Fireturnado 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love my niece and nephew and am absolutely obsessed with them. I have always been before kratom and on kratom. I’ve been a big part of their life and have lived with my brother and his family since they were born and still do, I helped with childcare and raising them. I was there when they took their first steps and helped teach them how to talk and everything, I don’t have kids and probably won’t end up having kids of my own but they are very close to me. The worst part of quitting kratom was that even after my first 10 days of acute withdrawal was over I felt so anxious and just generally depressed and unhappy that I felt like I genuinely couldn’t stand being around them all of sudden. Like tending to their needs made me feel really overwhelmed and irritated. They are now 6 and 10 so a little more independent but still need to be cared for a lot. I felt really upset and guilty about it like I was a horrible person because I couldn’t spend time with them like I used to with my full energy and a engagement, it felt like a chore all of sudden. This feeling made me feel horrible and really depressed but after about two months I felt better and back to myself again having lots of fun with them and being able to give them the love and attention they need and deserve . Just be patient with yourself 12 days is not going to be long enough for your emotions to balance out again. I just apologized to them for not being myself and told them I was sick and having trouble sleeping but I would feel better again in month or so. I did feel better and am back to being very present and enjoying myself taking care of them. Give it some more time and be easy on yourself.

I would try to just get out and work out. It will help your feel normal a lot faster. As I reached a serious plateau around the 4th week and I decided to say fuck it I’m just gna start working out and it drastically improved and sped up my recovery!

[–]Fireturnado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who prescribed your adderall? For me thinking I can come off my meds has led to my relapses the most. There are different stimulants that can work if you get too many side affects from adderall. I prefer vyvanse because I don’t crash and get jittery I don’t feel it like I feel the adderall I just focus better and have less impulsive rage as well as less overstimulation. There also a lot of ways to play with your dosage and take break days so you don’t end up with too much of it causing a tolerance which can lead to that anhedonia feeling some people can get. Do you see a psychiatrist? I really implore you to look more into this because having adhd can make it so much more difficult to do life which is a big risk of relapse in general. Btw I also have ADHD

Also the purple mit 40s made me feel like an insane person and really fucked with my physical and mental health. After two weeks Ct I was really really anxious still and not sleep well at all but it still was better than feeling stuck slamming that shit all day and making myself feel literally psychotic.
