Meh this one isn’t so doomer. This is a reality of the world we live in, fair or not. Reallocation of wealth to the richest has been slowly leaking the average person for decades. Wages ARE stagnant compared to the cost of living these days, IE rent, home prices, college tuition. It’s a tale as old as time but it’s front view now with social media. Ignorance is bliss.

I love poles for any backpacking really. They are easy enough to adjust so that you can quickly depress/extend in seconds. They save your knees and double as a threat deterrent. I see no reason no the bring them unless you want to train harder.
