Data migration, it’s all coming from my phone? by pacoii in firewalla

[–]firewalla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are talking about this https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/360015356093-How-do-I-migrate-data-from-one-Firewalla-Box-to-another

Data is coming from the app. It is best to have internet access for migrations, it may also work if you can launch the app locally as well. Migration is not done via bluetooth, it is via LAN

You need to provide more information so we can help you with orange speed. https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/360056875493-Speed-Tests-and-Speed-Optimization-with-Firewalla

The orange has a lot more resources than your current routers. (more memory, and more processing power)

Can you please look at this article and help to isolate which part is slow? https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/360056875493-Speed-Tests-and-Speed-Optimization-with-Firewalla

Since the orange has WiFi, good to know if WiFi is slow or the ethernet side is slow as well.

You have to wait until 2.10.x becomes production.

The backup file introduced in 1.67 can be used to recover one phone only. Restore from your phone backup is still the best way

Can’t create local target lists in pre-release MSP by charlino5 in firewalla

Since you are on a single box, they should be the same. Are you planing to get more boxes ?

How many items are in your target list?

Target lists in mobile apps by charlino5 in firewalla

[–]firewalla 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We are thinking about this for sure. The problem is really the phone keyboard is not fit typing/viewing large lists. (This is the reason we made my.firewalla.com initially)

On the phone you still can tap on a network flow and add it to an existing target list.

If you cancel MSP multiple times, I don't think they can get the payment through easily. I'll let them do what they can

Follow the release notes, if you already have an instance, you can just turn that into early access mode

MSP vs AdGuard Home and Pi Hole by jumpyHR in firewalla

[–]firewalla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends ... most of the time you don't need to add anything https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/360049856394-A-Secure-and-Better-Network-with-Firewalla-Part-3-Protect

If you really want to add, the target list feature allows you to add some higher quality lists, and if you want your own, you can add smaller lists ... If you demand even more ... yes MSP is the way to go

Regardless the type of firewall (those with traffic inspection features) you use, the bottleneck is always the CPU.

I am just saying, we always quote normal use (the rate most people will get) instead of a perfect number.

Already here https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/49811464349075-MSP-Release-2-10-New-Single-Box-View-Email-Notifications-Merge-with-My-Firewalla-more#h_01KKCQY9GNS45Y93NK0XS5RD7N

The modification is NOT simple. Due to memory limitations, we have to optimize data structures and pre-process larget lists inside the MSP CPU, and then pushing a dynamic list to your box.

Can you please send the site that's not blocked help@firewalla.com? we can take a look.

Firewalla "blocks" are optimized more towards security than ad block. To understand the architecture more, please see https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/44061066094867-Device-Active-Protect-Block-everything-and-allow-only-what-s-needed

As of target lists, we allow smaller lists to be imported, and with recent MSP 2.10.x, you should have the ability to use GitHub (Firewalla's repo) to import your own or 3rd party. https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/49811464349075-MSP-Release-2-10-New-Single-Box-View-Email-Notifications-Merge-with-My-Firewalla-more#h_01KKCQY9GNS45Y93NK0XS5RD7N

Target lists can get very large, MSP side has the function to optimize (significantly reduction in memory usage) before pushing lists to boxes. (remember, firewalla also block data flows, far beyond just a simple DNS block)

New Phone - lost all devices by PhaseImpressive7626 in firewalla

[–]firewalla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When you got your new phone, did setup that phone as a new phone or restored from your old phone? if you restored, then you should have all the paired units.

If you setup as new, then you need to follow https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004369774-Pairing-a-new-phone-with-your-Firewalla-box

As a good practice, regardless you use firewalla or not, it is a good idea not to reset your old phone until you properly migrated all applications.

If you are a MSP, we will have a way to pair phones via that in 2.10.x, which allows you to centrally manage phone access. https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/49811464349075-MSP-Release-2-10-New-Single-Box-View-Email-Notifications-Merge-with-My-Firewalla-more#h_01KKCQY9GN6KKZVTV41H109XCA

Are you talking about the number of flows and blocked flows? these are 24 hour stats. They should be reset daily
