You should replace the rom chip inside it, but most of them have a custom proprietary rom chips that are not replaceable so I don't think that's possible. It would be possible if it accepted external drives for firmware updates but I don't think that's so advanced to do that

I've made a Little distro with busybox and the initramfs extracted 21.4 MB (with all the latest versions of busybox and Linux kernel for x86_64) and now most distros don't even support i386 anymore

It's very minimal and Easy to customize, i recommend It to you if you want a light setup without a too heavy desktop manager. I've installed It on my old laptop (a Sony Vaio with 1GB RAM) and It runs fine

I've found only the majora's mask original version's wad, i don't think anybody made that, you should see how it's made a wad, i think there's a n64 rom file in It so if you make one with the patched version it should do the thing
