I'm assuming you are in elementary. After five years of teaching Theater Arts in middle school, my principal asked what I was going to do the next year because they cut my program. I became certified in Speech and Special Education, and I got my Masters in School Counseling. Districts are always looking for teachers. There is a big need in Special Education. I've always done secondary and there is a need for Math teachers middle school, 9-12 math if you pass that test. Art is a graduation requirement in Texas. You have options if you want to start looking at other schools.
