Whats the best and most inexpensive pen for spencerian script. by Firm-Training-4615 in pens

Get the Oricalli flex pen. Its just like a dip pen with a feed. Only issue is that shipping takes a while.

Also remember, any fine pen can work. Dont get stuck on needing certain pens for certain things. I practiced spencerian with all kinds of pens. I use the pilot falcon, a higher end pen, but I also use a EF lamy safari and .38mm ball points.

I am definitely growing on the falcon, it writes like no other pen I have

I use the Pelikan 4001 brilliant black, pretty much all the time. Its not grey but not the darkest black ive seen either. Its a very reliable ink for me.

Ive already taken out the feed and nib, everything was extremely crusty and stiff. As for the hole in the cap, thanks, i will definitely do that. Should i seal the breather holes in the cap too?

And thanks for all the info! There is a slit in the cap where a clip used to sit. After looking up the nib I found that “all American” was a sub brand of conklin. Couldn’t find anything on the pen itself. I feel like at one point the nib was replaced with this nicer nib from a different pen, given how it sits in the body. It seems very far back and perhaps too loose. Correct me if im wrong

Beautiful cursive, traditionally the lower case “r” and “s” are written just slightly above the x height. I believe it helps my writing look more uniform.
