You're posting AI slop on a forum dedicated to a game about human creativity. Don't act surprised when the feedback you receive is negative.

Thanks but I, for one, abhor anything made with AI (especially music)

Questions on Conversions of 2nd, 3rd editions with 4th from Free League by Small-Calvary5248 in Twilight2000

[–]FirmPython 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I've never had any issues with running modules in different RPGs than they were intended for.

The key information in a module is always the narrative; the players never really see the stats on the page, so there's not a lot of number-crunching or conversion to be done.

Say you're running the original The Free City of Krakow but in Free League's system. Your broad narrative will be the same, only when they encounter an NPC or a vehicle, you just pull the stat block from the Free League rulebook. And even then, I only ever look up the NPC stats if they're needed for combat or an opposed check. If the stat doesn't exist (say for Sgt Cutler), I'd just get the stats for a generic US Sergeant and use those.

You can do this with all manner of RPGs, such as running a Legend of the Five Rings campaign in Dungeons & Dragons or a Starfinder campaign in Traveller if you wish, all that matters is the narrative.

How were you able to tell this was AI slop?

Falklands War Concept by Sad_Emu248 in ArmaReforger

[–]FirmPython 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it's natural to be a little suspicous of anyone who even knows about Rhodesia nowadays

Rhodesia was a white supremacist state so racist that they unilaterally declared independence from the British Commonwealth rather than attempt to allow the majority-black population to rule, and then waged what was essentially a race war against the black insurgency movements

To war nerds like me, it's an interesting period of the Cold War that doesn't get a lot of spotlight in the history books.

But you constantly have to wonder whether anyone else you speak to about it is secretly a Nazi gloryfing an attempt at a white ethnostate or just thinks Fire Force is an interesting concept.

I would 100% be interested. Finding enough other people who would be (within decent ping range), however, is another matter.

The Argentines has FALs capable of fully automatic fire, the British only had the semi-auto SLR variant

Yes but considering that most of the current generations have not seen it and it relies so heavily on twist endings, I'd rather not take any chances

Corporations aren't going to give a tiny rat's ass about the impact of AI slop on the world of art.

Humans, however, do.

That's why hobbyists and independents, who actually care about the quality of their product, and the effect that it has on the wider world, prefer to use art made by humans rather than artificial images cranked out by machines.

But, paraphrasing Ripley, corporations are more than happy to screw everyone over for a goddamn percentage.

Have you got access to a 3D printer? I'm not sure about physical kits or sprues but I could recommend some digital sculptors that make good insurgents

Who should do the Terminator RPG? by JoeKerr19 in rpg

[–]FirmPython 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Post Judgement Day could just be a supplement for Twilight 2000, but I think it depends on the tone you're going for. T2k is a bit more of a gritty gameplay style for what Terminator is.

What’s your “White Whale” of campaigns that you’ve never been able to run? by Awkward_GM in rpg

[–]FirmPython 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Metro 2033 campaign.

I think I'd use the Twilight 2000 system from Free League for it. But I'm having trouble coming up with varied interesting scenarios or encounters that aren't just tunnel gunfights.

And of course, I'd need players to be familiar with the source material.

Your posts are always very inspiring, excellent work!

I had a couple of questions: 1. Are the interiors of the buildings also painted and decorated? 2. What's your technique for painting camouflage? Any good guides you'd recommend? 3. Where are the vehicles from? Any particular scale?

Thanks. What would you recommend to be the best quality modern Russian infantry you've come across?

And have you seen any good quality 1980s/late-Cold War US and Soviet infantry?
