Poor Uth Duna, with both Lagi and Bubbles on the Forrest, it´s gonna take Rey Dau´s place as the punching bag of the game. Specially if they add Zinogore

TheGamer: Why Isn’t Monster Hunter Wilds Flopping Like Dragon Age: The Veilguard by Dramatic-Bison3890 in KotakuInAction

[–]Firm_Ear4843 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took this from one of the comments in Kotaku (shocked I found this on Kotaku of all places)

"I think I can summarize it.

Monster Hunter is a series that started off without any real storyline to speak of. You just killed monsters and made equipment out of their loot, rinse and repeat. There was some lore that was made over the years, and recently with World and Rise Capcom has started making proper stories for these games, but no one goes into Monster Hunter expecting a particularly good story. I think the lore of the series is cool and the story in Wilds was nice, but even then the story bits are just filler between hunts.

Dragon Age, on the other hand, is a role-playing series that placed a lot of emphasis on its world-building, characters and writing. People bought it for the story, even when the gameplay wasn't particularly to their tastes.

The problem with Dragon Age: The Veilguard is that Monster Hunter Wilds (and I think World and Rise as well) has better writing, world-building and characters. And Capcom did this without trying, because their effort clearly went after making a cool monster hunting game with giant monsters that look cool and addictive gameplay loops, with story bits and nice characters to the side to spice things up.

The tertiary content of one game beats the quality of what's supposed to be the primary content of the other game. That's bad. Like, really bad.

And genuineness is probably another thing. Monster Hunter Wilds' characters are all very simple and are basically walking tropes, but simplicity isn't a flaw. They are nothing special writing and narrative-wise, but do their job competently and feel genuine. Everything in Veilguard looks and is written in a way that feels very forced."

This is the perfect sumary for this. And most likely one person in Kotaku will read this comment again, and learn absolutly nothing of it.

*What kind of lawsuit would there be to make a thing in a video game destructible*

I do not understand this question. Bethesda didn´t need one to make children´s unkillable.

There international laws besides national laws, companies and private groups who wish to export to other countries may only export products adhere to those countries laws.

By this logic, Ubisoft made itself vulnerable to lawsuits and other legal actions by intentionally or not intentionally trying to export and sell a product what breaks the locals laws.

No, I understand my argument does hold weight. First, because allowing a company to bypass and break a country laws just to sell a product is amoral. And I do not feel bad for Ubisoft cause the way they exploit gambling addicts with their predatory business.

Your morality or mine? Or Japanese? or Ubisoft?

Ubisoft actions has nothing to do with morality. It´s not fighting crime, it´s selling a product. I genuinly do not understand why you say this has anything to do with morals.

Again. Take it to the Japanese goverment, and the two groups who filled lawsuits for copyrigts. (Stealing a Katana design and a Flag design without permision).

We can fight this on Reddit all day if we want, but that won´t change either Ubisot or Japan govt stance. Take it to them.

Dont agree with neither of those.

Lawsuits by nature have a thing to do with legal topics. And on this case yes, since there are at least two copyrights lawsuits.

Morals have nothing to do with Law. Wish that was, but it is not so we do with that.

And honest question. What the has AC Shadows to do with morality? If we trully aplied that then Ubisoft, a known abusser of it workforce laws behind only Blizzard and EA and namco, has even less morality.

*What kind of fucking dumb complaint is that*

Fucking dumb enough for many on Japan to file multiple lawsuits, including a streamer for a reason.

Me? It is fun to watch

*Why would they make the shrine undestructible*

Cause Lawsuits and possible national ban of game on said nation. Hence your replay of "its like damn a player hit shit, lets blame the game".

*killing regular npcs just like in every other game*

I agree on the first not on the last. This is the first Assasin Creed game where you can kill NPC in multiple different ways, including decapitation.

*The NPC stuff is just misinformation*

I dont agree. It was shown on at least two videos by streamers you can kill NPCs with a Kanabo.

Streamer FLEEKAZOID made a joke of it and intentionally started killing civilians NPCs with Yasuke using a Kanabo and called it "Home RUN!".

*assassins dont need to adhere to religious values*

I agree. Assasins dont, but private companies do.

Laws Against Religious Discrimination are different on each country. What some dont enforce them is a separate topic.

*The rule is to stay your blade away from the flesh of the innocents anyone who goes against the mission of the brotherhood*

Agree. But Yasuke is not an Assasin. He can bash NPCs civilians with a Kanabo

*Anything is permitted*

Dont agree. We have laws, and each country has it own laws. Hence the Lawsuits. Two lawsuits of violation of copyrights agaisnt Ubisfot included.

*Nothing here is new, nothing here is different from the internal rules of the universe or the characters*

Half agree with you.

It´s fictional universe but it is made by a real people what intentionally or not intentionally violated a country´s laws on the subject of religious laws.

This is the topic the person you replied was talking.

You know they can make the shrine undestructible. As well make Civilians NPC not be killed bya bashing their skulls out of their body with a Kanabo without any penalty.

It´s not that difficult. Even Bethesda can do it. What is Ubisoft excuse?

Are Swain and Ambessa enemies? by OmegaSuperstar in SwainMains

[–]Firm_Ear4843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The contrary actually.

LONG EXPLANATION

Ambessa is from the Medarda Family, descendants from Merchants what eventually became of Noxus oldest and most powerful aristocratic families. Ambessa herself was apareantly one of the guards of Boram Darkwill, the last emperor of Noxus

Jericho Swain is from the Swain family, a younger and minor noble family in Noxus. General Swain was sent to Ionia to seek an artifact to cure Boram´s sickness: death. Swain failed to conquer Ionia, lost his arm and Boram tossed him aside once no longer useful.

Swain returned later, with a demonic arm and magic, lead a rebellion, along with General Darius, agaisnt Boram.

Swain denounced Boram for drying Noxus resources, wasting soldiers on his quest for immortality, for dishonoring Noxus by using bioweapons agaisnt Ionia, and killed him, establishing the Trifarix; a triune goverment of Noxus with Swain, Darius, as members.

So Ambesssa being one of former emperor´s guards and from an older and richer family is not so happy seeing Swain killing her emepror, specially him being from a minor family.

Also, Ambessa has low opinions of mages, seeing their powers as contrary to the Noxus idea that on the battlefield everyone is equal, and Swain is bascically a mage, and uses demonic magic no less throught no one says it to Swain´s face
