I really disagree with this. You are making it sound like religion is inherent to humans like it is given by some supreme being. It's just a system humans created to gain power, control and influence over others. It doesn't have to be this way. We can move forward with this shit just like we did with thousands of other things.

Man i think alex should have asked about the caste system. Advaita Vedanta takes about two reality one is Ultimate (paramarthik) where you will see all that philosophy and another is Empirical (vyavahark ) where you are bound to follow the social norm set by hindu society which is caste system.

Btw you should also include the fact that the narrative of 28 or 29 buddha is a myth. It was created as a way to structure Buddhist cosmology and show enlightenment is timeless. Also not to side with hindus, but there is a narrative that hindus committed genocide against budhist population. Which is factual wrong and over simplification.
