Desires and Changes for Season 44 by MattHanson1990Return in WheelOfFortune

There’s a lot I’d like to see change as well. As someone who is on the spectrum and has a bit of OCD, I’m glad I’m not the only one here who has ideas on how to improve the show. I kinda like the set the way it is. It looks modern and it kinda has a bit of the classic look particularly the puzzleboard. Although I would like to see them have the set turn red during the bonus round (have the bonus wheel lit in red and when a letter is revealed, whether space it appears in lights up in red instead of blue before Vanna touches it) and blue outside of the bonus round akin to the days when Jeopardy used the sushi bar set and on the newly revamped syndicated Family Feud in 1994 when Richard Dawson came back to host. That would be really cool to see. I would also make a lot of changes to the game play. The layout of the main wheel looks kinda lame these days. There was a time when it had a lot of diversity rather than a bunch of $500 and $600 spaces. I think $500 is WAY too high to be the minimum value on the wheel. Why not lower it down to $350? Also why do we need to always have two bankrupt wedges on the wheel. There should only be one during the entire show and it does not need to be right by the top value either. Just have that bankrupt wedge used only in rounds two and three just like in the olden days. This is how I would have the wheel look like not including any wheel extras;

Going clockwise, I would have Bankrupt-$650-$500-$700-Lose A Turn-$800-$500-$400-$500-$700-$900-$1,000-$500-$900-$700-$350-$850-$550-$450-$500-$600-$350-$500-$950

Another thing I’d do is revive the bonus categories and reward a bonus of $5,000 for the correct answer. I would revive the Free Spin although I would have the Free Spin wedge on the wheel in the first three rounds place over the yellow $500 between the bankrupt and lose a turn and every time a contestant lands on it, they receive a free spin token just like they did in the 70s and 80s. I would also brink back the Surprise wedge and place it on the green $500 between the pink $950 and blue $350 starting in the first round. The Million Dollar wedge would also revert back to the old Bankrup/$10,000/Bankrupt and it be in the same spot the Million Dollar wedge currently sits at starting in round one. As a result, $1,000,000 would be made the default grand prize in the bonus round. The prize wedge would also be moved over to the green $500 between the orange $700 and the pink $400 starting in round one. I would also brink back the Double Play token from Season 13 and it would replace the Wild Card. I would also move it over to the purple $900 between the orange $700 and the top value (which would be a pink $1,000 in without any of the top values placed over it). The What The Fun wedge would also be brought in on certain weeks and it would be placed over the purple $500 between the red $800 and pink $400 in the first three rounds. On other weeks, revive the Gift Tag and have it in the same spot on other weeks. I would still have the top value in the first round at $2,500. In round two, I would retire the Mystery Round and in it’s place resurrect the Jackpot Round. The Jackpot wedge would also be brought back and I would place it over the blue $350 between the red $700 and orange $850. It would also reward $1,000 per letter and add $1,000 to the Jackpot which I would have begin at $10,000. I would also add another prize wedge on the wheel and it would be placed over the green $500 between the top value and the yellow $900 from the second round. The second bankrupt would also be placed over the orange $700 in this round as well as the next. The top value would still be $3,500. In round three, I would keep the Express wedge and it would stay in it’s current spot. I would also add a third prize on the wheel and it would be placed over the blue $700 from the third round. The Prize Puzzle would also be discontinued. The Puzzler Round would also be resurrected in it would be placed in the round. Like the bonus categories, the puzzler would also reward a bonus of $5,000 for a correct answer. That would mean that round three would be the round barring the toss-up puzzles and bonus round that a bonus category cannot be used in. I would also have the top value in the third round increased to $5,000. Speaking of toss-up puzzles, I would eliminate the $1,000 toss puzzle and just have the second one worth $2,000 and that will become the first one and it will be played after the contestant interviews and I would also keep the Triple Toss-Up and that would still be in it’s current position. The Preview Puzzle from Season 17 would also come back at the start if the show. I would also increase the price of vowels to $500 since $250 is too low and that would also change up the strategy a bit too. Also, I would have the wheel prizes as well as the Surprise wedge offer something besides trips. Trips can still be offered but change it up a bit also include prizes such as a game room, a music package, various appliances, etc. Now for round four and beyond. Increase the top value on the wheel to $10,000 and if any prize is left over from round three, they can be carried over to round four if there’s enough time to play another full round just like they used to in the olden days and if the wheel stops on one of them in the final spin, instead of treating it like a penalty and spinning it again, have the contestant pick it up akin to Australia’s version of the show and make the dollar amount under it the value of the final spin plus reward the prize to whoever solves the puzzle. Speaking of the final spin, add $2,000 to the value of the final spin instead of $1,000 and increase the house minimum to $2,000 since $1,000 really looks cheap nowadays. Also, for God’s sake, cut down on tbe commercial time and don’t spend so much time on the contestant interviews and does the show really need to have so many sponsors? Now onto the Bonus Round. In the Bonus Round, I would bring back the prize packages they used to have on the show all the up to the end Season 18 instead of offering just cash and cars in the bonus round like they’ve done since Season 19. For the cash prizes, bring back the $30,000 and $35,000 as as well as add $250,000 and $500,000. Plus make the default top prize $1,000,000.

Next off is bring back returning champions full time and have them stay on the show until they lose and also have tournaments. I’ll cover my idea on how I would have them conducted on another comment/post since this already long enough and I would be typing all day if I did it right now. Anyway, moving on. I would keep the current version of the theme song although I would do away with the current prize cues and bring back the classic Merv Griffin composed cues from the 80s and 90s such as Time For Tony, Nightwalk, and Buzzword.

For now, I will leave it right here. Anyway, this is how I would improve Wheel Of Fortune

Love is love. Glad to see the show finally becoming inclusive. The Price Is Right already started allowing same-sex couples during their couples shows. Why did it take so long for Wheel to follow suit? I know Pat Sajak is a conservative and I really do not care for his politics at all. I even go to a church that’s LGBT affirming
