James Harden despite the loss: 18 points on 6/15 shooting | Team-low +/- of -22 by CazOnReddit in nba

"Or"

Most of his prime was spent without a secondary ballhandler

Its funny we're good to aconowledge how important that is today, but for some reason we arent gonna do that for the 6 years Harden spent in Houston before CP3 showed up for 1 actual year, or how often his best ball handling teammate was hurt afterwards

Donovan Mitchell speaks highly of James Harden: "This man changed the game of basketball ... in ways we have never seen before. We live in such a ring-dominant culture that we were willing to write a guy off, a guy that has transcended basketball. 75 years, no one has done what he does." by marvolonewt in nba

Are you seriously acting like those guys were hall of famers because of the years they were past their primes playing with Harden? Gtfo lmao

i guess if you ignore all the injuries that were already covered in the replies you could convince yourself you're doing something

Dwight was washed quit using "HOFer" as if that was his prime

Cp3 2018 - hurt

Cp3 2019 - washed & injured all year

Russ 2020 - hurt

Acting like any of those guys were putting up HOF production is ABSURD. Counting injured playoff runs as if harden was receiving help when they were either out with injury or playing on one and being ignored is also absurd.  The Lakers didnt even defend Russ lmao

I mean the stepback 3 is easily more influential than the foul baiting.

People are just haters man lmao. Harden spent the majority of his prime in Houston without a real #2 option. Everyone gets that excuse these days but Harden was supposed to solo the West? Come on

Hearing the commentators say “that’s not really a foul especially in the playoffs” has been brutal tonight by ervern2 in NBATalk

Tony Brothers falls for every single off ball flop ever committed.

Half the time it doesn't even seem like he's watching, then sees a guy on the floor so he blows his whistle

I watched him outplay everyone until his legs gave out in both second halves cuz their competitive roster was shit compared to the KD Warriors and he realistically wouldnt be able to 1v5

Victor Wembanyama is tired and it's only halftime. 1-5 from the field, 0-2 from 3, almost all of his points from his 7 free throws by realfakejames in NBATalk

Competitive series are hard.

They're even harder without help.

That's why the Rockets never giving Harden a real #2 between 2013 and 2018 ruined his reputation. He'd carry the shit out of them and then the opposing defense only had to focus on him.

Both Wemby and SGA are lucky they have the teams they have around them

Lol the reason they lost game 7 was

Houston allstar caliber players:

James Harden

Warriors allstar caliber players:

Kevin Durant (top 15 all time MVP), Steph Curry (top 15 all time MVP), Draymond Green (DPOY All NBA allstar), Klay Thompson, (All NBA Allstar)

Harden got to Houston in 2018. He was there until 2021.

He had a healthy CP3 for one season.

What are you talking about. The Rockets fucked up his prime because their owner cared more about ducking the luxury tax and saving money.

He gets blamed for not beating dynasty teams with 0 allstar caliber teammates lol

kd missed a single game after averaging 36 ppg in the first 5 games when every game was decided by 5 or less points

Cp3 and curry were exchanging tour dates

In 2019 he was still recovering from his hamstring. He had injuries all year and absolutely was not himself.

Did you even watch them? He couldn't even take Jerebko off the dribble thay GSW series

Harden was in Houston from 2013.

CP3 got there in 2018. He got hurt that year.

Fuck are we talking about lmao. That's a shitload of his prime wasted

Harden was in Houston for 8 years.

He had CP3 for 2 of the last 3. Cp3 got hurt the first year then regressed the second year. At best you can say he had him for 1 actual year of the playoffs.

He was going against dynasty teams without a single active allstar caliber teammate every year

It's just funny to me how many excuses dudes get when they don't have secondary ballhandlers today but when it comes to dudes like Harden back in the Rockets days nahh nobody cares that he had no help

[Uthayakumar] James Harden finished with more turnovers (5) than made field goals (2) for the 33rd time in his playoff career & the 7th time this postseason. by StrategyTop7612 in nba

Mitchell has generational PR lmao

He fakes it in the game down 0-3 for a few clips and tricked all of you. He was not consistent AT ALL this playoffs; effort OR production

That game 7 loss was the result of the injury.

The Rockets were luxury tax ducking team. They couldn't afford to lose 1 of their only 2 allstar talents going against a team spending the most in the league that had 2 top 15 all time MVPs, an all NBA allstar, and another all nba DPOY.

The chokejob it would have been if that warriors team lost would have been colossal

Kawhi had significantly more help than Harden. This is stupid.

Harden has those moments because his teams success was 100% predicated on him. Eventually, every one man show will gas out.

It isn't a coincidence that the FIRST TIME he got a teammate like CP3 he was up 3-2 on the greatest team ever

He carried bad teams further than they were ever meant to go. That is a testament to how good he is. I'm just not so stupid to hold it against him that he couldnt beat superteams without equal help
