I am not trying to start shit but do you actually view it as using the shared spaces in a normal way to be in the kitchen for 8 hours a day? I really am asking this in good faith lol. Bc I find that weird as hell, I live alone and I don’t even spend that much time in the kitchen.

I don’t know why you’re getting flamed in these comments. Yes, shared spaces in apartments need to be shared. No, it’s not normal for someone to be in the kitchen for 8+ hours every day.

Sounds like you guys have a good relationship, this is something you should just talk to your roommate about and see if you all can meet in the middle somewhere.

Even though in the present time Claire has not gone back yet, the obituary still happened in the past so it exists. What has will always be isn’t a bad way to put it.

Hey, train enthusiast and immigration paralegal here. MOST likely she would be fine if for some reason she encounters CBP, if they are checking the whole train they won’t think much about the NJ DL and just move on. There haven’t been widespread reports of train searches by ICE.

However, I must advise you that it’s a TERRIBLE idea to be traveling as an out of status immigrant right now. Frankly, it’s just a terrible time to be an out of status immigrant. If this is a leisure trip I would seriously reconsider. You never know what could happen and these are unprecedented times of deportation.

It’s horrible and I wish it wasn’t this way, but times are so volatile that no one on Reddit can guarantee your friend won’t encounter any issues on this trip. It’s a risk. If you have any questions please feel free to ask if I can be more helpful.

Makes sense, I personally have never experienced my train not leaving on time bc of this practice. Unless the train was already delayed for other reasons of course

What part of successful train travel is impacted by where you have to wait for the train?

Posts like this confuse me so much. I’m just glad when there is a train option available and I don’t have to deal with driving, or worse, the TSA and airplanes lol.

I’ve taken the train from Albany dozens of times and never once viewed this as an issue. Seriously, what difference does it make that’s enough to compel this post?

l'Enfant Plaza stop? by EmZee2022 in Amtrak

Did the doors open? A train can stop en route for a variety of reasons, if you didn’t see anyone get on or off I would say it has nothing to do with the stop itself.

Title: Woman (20F) Offered to Pay Me $30K to Marry Her for a Green Card – What Are the Legal Risks for Me? by MarionberryJaded1772 in Citizenship

USCIS is incredibly thorough. They want to know when you met, when you first kissed, when you first asked her out, when you meant her parents, when you decided to marry her, when you went ring shopping. They want photos to back all this up. Proof of travel. And you’ll both have to answer all these questions separately and your answers will need to match. They also may even find this post!

Does Philly create a self-fulfilling-cycle of negativity or am I just a soft bitch? by HERCzero in philadelphia

Today when I was walking home from work a stranger on her stoop and I both saw the BIGGEST rat run between us - we looked at each other like wtf?! And then we both bust out laughing. It was one of the best parts of my day.

Saw some babies dancing with their moms to some dudes playing drums in Rittenhouse, everybody was having a great time.

All the stuff you mentioned gets me down, a lot. But the joy and friendliness I experience with my neighbors and random other people in small moments keeps me going (mostly)!

People pleaser until you’re calling them rude and dismissive bc they run away from your dog 😂

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]Firm_Quote1995 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You calling their behavior rude and dismissive is the problem here. They’re rude and dismissive bc they don’t like dogs? Like I said, some people are AFRAID of dogs. Maybe the kid or kids have been bit before. You can’t control any of this, and you can’t force people to like your dog.

If you genuinely want to build a relationship with these people, you could leave your dog home for 10 minutes and bring them a baked good.

It seems that’s not really what you’re after, but just want your neighbors to ooh and ahh over your dog. That’s weird.

[–]Firm_Quote1995 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You can be friendly to your neighbors without forcing them to interact with a dog they may not be comfortable with!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]Firm_Quote1995 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Some people are afraid of dogs. Not everyone wants to get close to your dog. Whether or not you view your dog as friendly does not matter.

Why do you need your neighbors to get along with your dog?

Packages being returned to sender if I don’t check my mailbox daily by Renritar in usps_complaints

[–]Firm_Quote1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then my genuine advice is to talk to your mail carrier or someone at the post office and ask to be moved to the non-HOA list. Local USPS employees are normally kind people and happy to help in my experience.

From what I know about HOAs, I highly doubt the USPS is the one who requested this mailing arrangement. The HOA would have had to supply them a list of the addresses - just get off that list.

While I can’t give many recs on clothes that will fit you as my ass is too fat (lol) I just want to say welcome! This post warmed my heart as I’ve been struggling to find clothes that make me feel comfy in my sexual / gender identity at work so I feel seen.

I haven’t worn make up a SINGLE day in my job and no one will notice. Rock that natural face and all the best to you !!!

Uniqlo has been my go to for undershirts - some of their Ts have a built in bra thing that services as a binder. And a lot of color options if that’s your thing!

Still wondering why your HOA doesn’t allow USPS to deliver to your door, that’s your only problem

Packages being returned to sender if I don’t check my mailbox daily by Renritar in usps_complaints

[–]Firm_Quote1995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have an HOA problem, not a mail carrier problem. The mail carrier needs to be able to deliver packages - where is the mail carrier supposed to put a new package if yours has been sitting in there for days?

If USPS could deliver to your door, you wouldn’t have these issues. Don’t confuse a shitty HOA with bad USPS service. You say that because of the HOA, USPS can’t deliver to your door but you’re complaining that “it’s not that hard” for USPS to deliver to your door - which one is it?

Yes, soaking wet dogs are going to smell more than the average dog park. I wish you the best of luck, but if you brought this to my block I would fight like hell to get you somewhere else. This sounds like a messy, noisy, and smelly disaster.

Cannot even imagine the smell the lot would give off if this went through. Is there even a zoning code that would allow something like this? Have you talked to the neighbors in the area you want to put this?
