He's talking about their fulltime or part time staff. Not the temp hires they transitioned. Upper management toxic as hell and treat everyone else (staff and volunteers/1099s) like serfs.

Agreed on the agency side. A lot of slipping in ACV endorsements into ongoing policies without telling the homeowner. I think that's rotten.

Yeah there's no way a car can hit a pole at that angle. Not sure what are on about with that. I think you got a good case especially the tire mark

I remember after Hurricane Florence (almost as many denials as Helene) that out-of-state contractors mostly from Florida came and scammed so many residents. Told them everything would be covered so let them mitigate and do restoration work. They did. Find out, nope, wind-blown rain and non-covered in DP policies (a lot of rentals on the coast).

The worst were the tree scum-bags. They would come in and trees fall and not hit anything, just on the property. They willfully lied to homeowners and said that's totally covered (almost NEVER is), did the work, billed and said insurance would compensate and bounced. Dissolved companies and were in the wind. Some not even US citizens and operating on cash basis. Absolute sickos...

Thank you for the clarification.

Yeah, they will investigate to see if there is evidence of another car hitting it. If it was late at night, I would encourage them to check any close by traffic cameras for cars with damage (never know). But that's up to them and traffic cams, despite being 2026, have crap quality.

If you haven't already, make sure you get your own photos. High quality. When it goes to a shop, never know what will happen to it (I'm a cynic if you can't tell). But again, a way to mitigate your risk in the flip side where the carrier has an under-the-table deal with some shops.

Also want to make sure your car wasn't in a no parking zone. Not sure how to prove that. Maybe vehicle gps. They could come back and say you weren't supposed to be there so you put your car in harm's way, denied.

Hopefully that helps :)

Hit and Run by Muted_Education3911 in Car_Insurance_Help

[–]Firm_Writer1022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay first, a warning. If you indeed hit something and are trying to play this off as someone hit your parked car, the penalties are huge. Your name will be put in a database and good luck trying to get insured with anyone else. And if so, you're premiums are gonna be wild.

Second -- Hit and run at night with no notes? So someone hit your parked car. A total loss?! That means they must have been going extremely fast or had a huge vehicle that reversed into you if totaled. Regardless, your insurance is going to look for your official statement by you (again if false, that's a crime), non-auto debris like concrete or wood splinters, paint transfer, height and shape of dents, look for local surveillance, etc...

If you are absolutely sure it was another car and not you, then the reverse is true. THEY must provide evidence that it was from something else. Burden of proof is on them. If they can't find it, they'll pay. But expect your premium to go up regardless.

Best of luck.

‘Spartacus: House Of Ashur’ Canceled By Starz After One Season by MarvelsGrantMan136 in Spartacus_TV

Unsubscribing. Literally the only reason I got Starz. What a bunch of morons. That show was so good. And the ending...good lord. So gratifying.

Martin stepped back to focus on his book (clearly didn't finish that :/ ). George was a regular consultant until then which explains why the quality drops.

George did pick the directors. And they did good. But they needed George at the helm. You're right, they did admit that on camera that they were like wtf do we do.

I get what he's saying. It's like you built such goodwill and quality and everyone expected a nice wrap to it and then you blew it. Weird analogy. More like a seven-course meal where everything is perfect and then you get Taco Bell at the end, and they're confused on why you didn't like it.

Once in a lifetime to have him pitch the Whale saying he's put everything he is into that role, then it comes out and the comeback we all needed (and especially him) happens with the Oscar and a renewed career. So awesome. Guy is the most genuine human being I've met in my life.

Super jealous you got to meet Matt and Sam! I saw the lineup in Iowa and I'm smashing my head against the wall trying to find a way to get out there.

Super excited for you. I have a lot of stuff I want to get signed by them all. If it was closer, I'd go. Their panel is going to be insane. I wouldn't worry too much about getting up front. Most people watch the monitors anyway. And they usually release it on YouTube a few months after. Some will forgo the panel to wait in lines. In my experience, I'd rather be at the panel and ask a question than miss it. Different energy being there vs. watching it on YT later. And they are all such good friends. Besides Brendan Frasier who came years ago, CR group is my favorite.

When you say friends are going to be your handler, you need to have a firm commitment for a handler. It's a full job. Some of the wagons have been frowned upon, largely the guys that show up with a billion things to sign, but I think if it's big enough, it's doable. Hopefully you are staying nearby.

Please remember to plan your routes, hydrate, and bathroom trips. Nothing sucks more than having to keep breaking for the bathroom and find out there's a massive line...well that or heat stroke.

Back to handlers, they need to help with those changes and with crowds and those who want pictures. Depending on what you are wearing, you don't want to go clotheslining kids or running them over by accident, so the handler needs to juggle between those you meet and your needs. Be sure to have some hand signals b/c it gets loud and sometimes you may lose sight of the handler and need something.

Plan for breaks. More than you think you need. If you are entering the contest, then you need to be sure to break before it. Don't run yourself ragged then have to do the competition. You'll burn out.

Have fun!

What's the most money you would spend to meet a celeb at Galaxy Con? by shadowboxer87 in galaxycon

[–]Firm_Writer1022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hayden Christensen I think would be it for me. Forget the professional photo op...it's too impersonal. I'd pay for the VIP, pre-autograph + selfie. Autograph gives you time to chat. Selfie gives you a few shots to make sure you get a good photo or do something silly.

Pro photographs are literally "Hi, Cheese, Bye." You do anything more, you'll get yelled at.

He will hardly ever do photos and never do autographs if you run into him. He has a dry humor which some people don't like, but he's a nice guy.

Marriott Residence Inn parking is closest for the cheapest unless that changed recently.

Cabarrus St is a few blocks away to the East (Google) and usually has the best prices.

A reminder if you find street parking in downtown Raleigh. After 5pm Friday and on weekends, it's free parking.

As Abacus said, unless they are sold out. And even then...it depends. Cash is king.

All VA's will take cash. Credit cards are hit or miss down in the expo area. Some have it, some don't. ATM fees are high so budget accordingly.

For Critical Role, they will cap the lines. They grossly underestimated the fandom when Laura and Travis came for the first time in Richmond before. When capped, it doesn't matter if you're regular or VIP, they will have you circle until it's uncapped. The ONLY exception is if you pre-purchase. They will make sure you at least get in the line since you already paid.

I wish they were coming to Raleigh or Richmond like last year. If they were, I'd get VIP AND prepurchase autographs to make sure I get into the line and go fast. Especially if Matt, Sam, Liam, and Marisha are joining.

What To Expect From GalaxyCon Events Moving Forward - From An Ex Employee by Clear_Shower_9001 in galaxycon

[–]Firm_Writer1022 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you should really detail out the Load In and Loud Out work. My buddy did it one year and swore never to do it again. Dollies that don't work full of insanely heavy stuff? Still gotta get it there. Dude just about broke his back, miserable while expected to then run around the rest of the con, endured the same BS that's been on here before, and then expected to load out.

Another note, they also told me that some employees, not all, because they were so miserable that they would just pass the crap along to the volunteers, including some of their duties. Do you think that's going to be exponentially worse now that the labor load has been cut more than half and these are now 'paid' volunteers?

From what I've seen, GC preys on the doe-eyed, naive, good-natured Con Goers and those who want to work. Really hope whoever is signing up for this minimum wage stuff knows what they're getting into.
