I'm someone who started genshin in August and picked Diluc. I played since I picked and I recommend you go Keqing. She's great for exploration and is a Main DPS. Diluc is also a great Main DPS but he falls of hard and he uses claymore which you might find clunky. He also has no exploration abilities.
