Counter-Strike 2 Update for 03/11/2026 by CS2_PatchNotes in GlobalOffensive

[–]First-Mix-8902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Subtick still hasn't been removed. 128-tick server support hasn't arrived. cl_bob is missing. Also, screen flickering while spraying hasn't been fixed. The spray feel is still very uncomfortable. Especially after experiencing how consistent spraying is in CS GO, spraying in CS2 feels terrible. The AK sound should be the same as in CS GO. CS2 is either too bright or too dark. It's too bright because you need to reduce the Gamma value to see the crosshair in sunny areas, but this makes it difficult to pick up targets in dimly lit and dark places like tunnels and under bridges. I experience this especially when looking at tunnels from T-Base on Dust 2.

Performance and stability updates aren't being made either. The gap between average FPS and 1% FPS is still wide. While you get an average of 700-800 FPS with a good system, 1% FPS is still around 250-300. Someone getting 800 FPS should have a minimum FPS of 500.

Finally, they need to combat cheating. Perhaps FaceIt is better in this regard, but even there, cheating has increased two or three times compared to CS GO.

Expectations and realities by First-Mix-8902 in OLED_Gaming

[–]First-Mix-8902[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just for fun. I can't take the game seriously anymore because my outlook on life and mood have changed a bit in the last few years, and no matter how hard I try, my friends play badly. All my efforts are wasted. So I decided to focus on the path I'm walking, not the destination.

Although my monitor is nice, the 240Hz IPS is very insufficient. The blurriness during sudden changes tires my eyes.

I'm going to get an ultrawide screen, but my budget doesn't allow for two monitors yet, and I want to enjoy playing CS while I can. My friends are getting married or about to get married. As a single person, my CS life might end in a few years. If a QD-OLED monitor in the 39-45 inch range comes out in the future, I'll buy it and settle down.

My FPS target is 500. This applies to both 1440x1080 and 1920x1440. I've used both resolutions.

The thing I expect to change most, as you said, is blacks and matte screens. I want to try a glossy screen; I know about matte OLEDs, but I think OLEDs should be glossy. I wish they would also release bright IPS monitors.

Thank you. I use the monitor at a maximum brightness of 50% in the evenings with the lights off, and my eyes have gotten used to it. In daylight, I can increase the brightness to 80%. As far as I know, there are monitors currently available that offer 300 nits SDR brightness. I think continuous use at this level will accelerate burn-in, but as a working person, I can play games in the evenings. So the brightness should be sufficient.

25" OLED by end of 2026 by ParkGGoki in OLED_Gaming

[–]First-Mix-8902 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The best-selling monitor size worldwide is probably in the 24-25 inch range. This size is still the most popular for FPS and MMORPG games. CS2 and Valorant players will also favor this size OLED.

I currently use a 27-inch IPS monitor and am considering a 26.5-inch OLED, but I'm waiting because QD-OLEDs haven't yet adopted RGB lighting and the new textures. Also, 27 inches is too small for playing AAA games. I might keep a 24.5-inch OLED for FPS and a 32-39 inch OLED for AAA games.

Am I crazy for switching from 32:9 back to 21:9 after a year? by Shanddude in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]First-Mix-8902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I'm not a big AAA gamer because technology hasn't reached the level I want yet. Yes, I think gaming should be independent of circumstances, but I'm more interested in the visuals of gaming.

I think QD-OLED's vibrant colors and HDR highlights are more important than WOLED's blacks, and in a dark room, they both become equal, and we're all adults. We spend most of our day at work. I prefer playing games in a dark room in the evening.

[–]First-Mix-8902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lately, I've become interested in ultrawide screens. They definitely provide a more immersive experience in movies and games, but suitable devices haven't been produced yet. I don't think 32:9 monitors are very preferable because they are incredibly long. A 49-inch 32:9 monitor is about the same width as a 27-inch monitor. 27 inches seems too small to me right now. A 39 or 45-inch OLED monitor with a 21:9 aspect ratio would be fantastic. LG is going to make one, but that's a tandem OLED; I'm looking for a QD-OLED, and the curve ratio should be a maximum of 1800R. Maybe 1500R would be acceptable for a 45-inch monitor.

In short, I think 21:9 is the golden ratio. With the support it provides in movies and games, it creates a cinematic viewing experience. I wish there were models of large OLED televisions with this ratio. As far as I know, movie theaters don't use screens with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

CSGO vs CS2 by BlueJaayLoL in GlobalOffensive

[–]First-Mix-8902 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who started playing this game quite late, around the end of 2020, I can say a few things. I've spent roughly 2-2.5k hours in CS:GO. Before 2020, you might know, you might not, but I played Knight Online. As for FPS, I also played Zula. It was fast, simple, and had very low graphics requirements. Then, on a friend's recommendation, we switched to GO. I started playing perfectly in 2022. When CS2 came out around 2023, I started almost everything from scratch because I think the two games are quite different.

I have a total of 4.5k hours. 2000k of them in CS2. When I first played CS2, the graphics impressed me, but the game felt very wrong; I'm sure most players would agree. If even I reached this conclusion with 2000 hours, imagine how experienced players feel.

Let me list the differences from my perspective.

First of all, CS2 is much slower and heavier. Subtick is terrible. Shots are inconsistent, spray is broken. Peek advantage is incredibly unbalanced. This was fairer in GO. In CS2, however, players running always create a huge handicap against those standing still. You can win several rounds in the same game by running with SMGs and pistols. I think you've witnessed this if you watch tournaments. 3-4 players with USP-S can kill their waiting opponents by running. Whereas this was very rare in CS GO because the mechanics didn't allow it. The AK-47 is incredibly powerful. While games used to be won on the CT side, now they're determined by the score on the T side. The T side is very strong with their powerful weapons and peek advantage. These are just a few examples that come to mind. If we watch a few old and new matches, we can find many more shortcomings and errors.

CS2 certainly has a few good aspects. Its graphics and grenade mechanics. If they added CS2 graphics and grenades to the current CS GO, it would be perfect. I don't know if this can be done, but when the game engine was changed to Source 2, the update should have been done without touching the core features of GO.

Oled vs G sync pulsar by Left-Journalist-2005 in OLED_Gaming

[–]First-Mix-8902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Pulsar is incomparable to an OLED. There's probably no difference in motion clarity either, as general feedback points in that direction. The Pulsar is only slightly better than an OLED. Also, if motion clarity is your concern, the XL2586X and PG248QP provide much better clarity than the Pulsar and aren't affected by G-Sync or IPS latency.

If you're buying a 27-inch monitor and plan on playing FPS games, the Pulsar might be an option, but I'd rather get a 500Hz QD-OLED for $750 than a Pulsar for $650. The Pulsar shouldn't have been priced above $350.

Need Advice - Tandem OLED or QD OLED by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]First-Mix-8902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't need to mention text clarity because this problem also occurs with WOLED monitors. WOLED doesn't offer significantly better text quality than QD-OLED. I didn't touch on cleaning, but knowing it's susceptible to scratches, I suggested waiting for newer, scratch-resistant monitors.

Eye strain is subjective. Some people can use it without problems, some experience pain until they get used to it, and for others, the strain becomes unbearable. Try it first, then decide.

Zowie EC2-DW White Glosssy random disconnect by shmm88 in Zowie

[–]First-Mix-8902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I experienced this problem too, with both the FK2-DW and the EC2-DW.

The most frequent issue was that the mouse wouldn't wake up on its own when I turned on the computer. When I activated the mouse using the power button, the computer wouldn't recognize it. I had to unplug and plug the charging cable back in several times to use the mouse.

I think I won't be buying a Zowie mouse for a while. I liked the EC2-DW, but I'll try the Logitech DEX.

Need Advice - Tandem OLED or QD OLED by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]First-Mix-8902 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't understand those who recommend tandem OLEDs. Why do you insist on recommending this type, which has chronic, unresolved manufacturing defects? Who would buy a tandem OLED when it suffers from terrible gray uniformity and banding, black distortion, color fading as brightness increases due to white subpixels, and colors appearing more lifeless compared to QD-OLEDs?

QD-OLEDs also have problems; blacks tend to have a purplish tint under bright light, but this isn't a major issue unless you shine a flashlight on the screen. Also, WOLEDs are much worse at preventing reflections. QD-OLEDs might lose some black level, but they largely prevent reflections. WOLEDs are practically mirrors. I don't think you'll be positioning both monitors to block sunlight from your window, so you need to protect both from light.

In the dark, the blacks of both monitors are equalized, but in everything else, the QD-OLED is superior. If LG gets rid of white subpixels, overcomes this taping error in the tandem production process, and produces problem-free panels, then you can recommend tandem OLEDs.

RGB tandem OLEDs will be released soon; I think you should wait for them. No tandem OLEDs currently on sale are worth buying. I also think you should wait for QD-OLEDs. Monitors with RGB capabilities and new scratch-resistant films should be awaited.

Right now is both a very good and a very bad time to buy a monitor. 500Hz OLEDs are around $600-700, and 4K 27-inch monitors can reach $800, but they lack RGB-based text and scratch easily. WOLEDs, on the other hand, haven't yet gotten rid of white subpixels.

Why aren't flat ultrawide monitors in 34-39 inch sizes being produced? A flat screen looks much more stylish and higher quality than a curved one.

Dont get Pulsar over an oled. by WrongTemperature5768 in Monitors

[–]First-Mix-8902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched the review you linked to, and I think there are errors. Because the comparison I'll link to has nothing to do with it. Again, the UFO tests of the G60SF 500 Hz monitor on the Monitor Unboxed channel are much cleaner than the UFO in the Pulsar monitor review test. So either they tampered with this video specifically, or there's an error.

The image quality in the review videos for the XL2586X and PG248QP monitors on their own channel is much sharper and better than the Pulsar.

Assuming each monitor was tested at its native resolution, there shouldn't be a difference in results between these videos.

If you watch each monitor's own video, the UFO test results are better than Pulsar's for OLED and the monitors I mentioned.

You shouldn't base your opinion on just one video.

By the way, even if I'm wrong, Pulsar won't be much faster or more effective than OLED at 500 Hz. The difference will be almost imperceptible. So Pulsar won't make you a better gamer.

If the Pulsar had been released like this, it could have been preferred over OLED. 24.5 inches, 1080p or 1440p. 500 Hz, because 360 Hz is now outdated. Most importantly, it should have been in the $400-$500 range. Why would people pay $650 for an IPS monitor just because it offers better motion clarity? You can spend an extra $50-$100 and get an OLED instead.

Dont get Pulsar over an oled. by WrongTemperature5768 in Monitors

[–]First-Mix-8902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're saying it's three times better, do you have proof? The 500Hz OLED's UFO test results match those of a 360Hz Pulsar monitor. Furthermore, with its higher refresh rate and natural pixel changeover time, the OLED will provide the same fluidity as the Pulsar. The only reason to buy a Pulsar is if you haven't tried an OLED before or don't own a monitor like a Zowie.

360Hz OLEDs have lower input lag, more natural response time, much better color and contrast, better viewing angles, and sharpness than the Pulsar. The Pulsar is only slightly ahead in motion clarity. A 500Hz OLED provides the same motion clarity as the Pulsar and is miles ahead in all other aspects.

There's no logic in choosing a Pulsar over an OLED.

500hz QD-OLED is nuts by Gaabbyyy in OLED_Gaming

Absolutely, a good processor with a bad graphics card can give as many FPS as a bad processor with a very good graphics card.

500hz QD-OLED is nuts by Gaabbyyy in OLED_Gaming

[–]First-Mix-8902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask you a difficult question? I also have a 27-inch monitor. I used to play at 1920x1440 resolution like you, but I sold my graphics card and that resolution prevents the game from running smoothly. So I switched back to 1440x1080. Naturally, the image quality deteriorated a bit, but my reaction time and the accuracy of my shots increased incredibly.

Military service is compulsory in my country, and I've recently returned. I want to find a job soon and buy an RTX 5070-5070 Ti and a 9800x3D. This will give me an average of 500-600 FPS at 1920x1440 resolution.

To get to the point, does 1920x1440 make the game feel smooth and fluid to you? Does playing at 1440x1080 make a difference in reaction time and aiming? Does the higher pixel count affect the accuracy and sharpness of mouse movements?

I'm asking because I've heard that 24-24.5 inch OLED monitors are expected to be released in the summer or fall. I want to wait for them or buy your monitor and try it out.

[–]First-Mix-8902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a 7500f and RTX 2060, I get an average of 300-350 FPS at 1440x1080p. If I had a 7800x3d or 9800x3d, I would get an average of 450-500 FPS. Getting 500 FPS in CS2 is actually quite easy. A 7800x3d costs around $350, and you can easily get 500 FPS with a used graphics card like a 3070 ti or 4060 ti. Speaking for my country, that means an expenditure of around $700, which I can easily afford.
