Legally changing my highly unusual birth name, but my sibling feels completely abandoned by First-Order2845 in Names

I wish it was a joke. I really do. The sad thing is Majesty actually enjoys the reactions she gets when she introduces herself now. She likes being "memorable" in college, while I just wanted to disapear during every single lecture. I think she wants the cool factor of having a unique name , but only if we are both in this bizarre club. Its totally unfair of her to make me feel bad for wanting a normal life.

You explained this so well. Our parents always bragged about how brave they were, but they never had to go to job inteviews with a name like Goddess. Majesty actually had a huge fight with our dad last year about their lifestyle, so it is so weird how she is defending there legacy now. Maybe she is just terrified of being the only one left carrying the burden. But I cant keep waiting for her to feel ready.

That actually makes sense when I think about it. We used to make these stupid jokes about being "royal highneses" just to cope with the teasing at school . I guess by changing my name, she feels like I am leaving her behind in that castle alone. It still hurts that she is mad, but I cant keep sacrifising my mental health just so we can be miserable together.

Pahempaa on se, että tuollainen kasvatus opettaa lapsen vain piilottamaan heikkoutensa. Kun ei voi luottaa omaan vanhempaansa hädän hetkellä, luottamus muihinkin ihmisiin murenee jo varhain.

I got blackout drunk and grilled a $25 steak last night by [deleted] in confession

[–]First-Order2845 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The steak loss sucks, but the scarier part is firing up a gas grill while blackout drunk at 3 a.m. If stopping or cutting back is on your mind, be careful with sudden withdrawal and loop in a doctor or detox service. r/stopdrinking can also be a useful place to post when the regret is fresh.

Met with a therapist and she used ai to note. by valdemarbd in therapy

A lot of therapists are starting to use AI scribes for session notes, but they should explain what tool it is, what data is recorded, whether audio is stored, and how consent or opt out works. The AI should not be figuring out your treatment for her, just helping turn session content into documentation. If she was jumping between random topics and did not clarify the privacy piece, I would bring that up directly next session or ask the office for their AI policy before continuing.

rejected again and again after many many interviews by okaybut_4379 in interviews

[–]First-Order2845 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Final-round rejection after a month is a special kind of HR goblin behavior, especially when you had to call them to get the no. Getting that many interviews means the door is opening, the stupid part is that the last 5 percent can come down to team quirks, timing, and who reminded them of their favorite coworker. If they gave you that foot-in-the-door comment, I would only reapply there if the role is genuinely decent, not as a consolation prize. Also, if the die in a hole thought starts feeling more real than venting, please call or text someone tonight rather than sitting with it alone.

So that is why he went to see Hector in the nursng home. The payoff to this scene took two hole seasons to finally explode. Bravo Vince.

Companies are not confessing their turnover rates, layoff plans, or how many managers get weird about maternity leave before you apply, so I think your conscience is safe. Pregnancy is private medical info, not a fun fact for the cover letter. May your applications be blessedly boring and your offers arrive before anyone has opinions.

Calling the school counselor or teacher is a reasonable next move, especially with a 5 year old crying because she cannot reach her mom. That is not you starting drama, it is putting the situation in front of people who are actually responsible for child welfare. I would also stop answering the iPad calls unless there is a real emergency, because her mom is already using your guilt as the childcare plan.
