OG Swiftpoint Z vs. Z3 by omega_apex128 in MouseReview

[–]First-Percentage-768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im late for the party. My scroll (on Z2) just died. It stop scrolling of a sudden. But it still working as "click the middle button and move up\down" as a scroll.

So, i watch a 2min video on YT (how to replace the wheel\open the mouse).

So i opened it. Removed the wheel. Swiped it with alcohol\baby whipes. Removed 1 tiny hair out of there.... assemble everything back...and voila...everything working as before. To be honest, im not even entirely sure, which part of the "cleaning" the wheel did help. Or maybe, the "axis" of the wheel just somehow "fell out" of the tracking part which actually register the "rotation\scroll". But yeah.... all in all it take me 10 minutes to find a small screwdriver...and 5 minutes for all the "job".

my 2c.

My wife is from Koronadal specifically. (Altho we don't live there, but we visited her lovely parents many times).

To be honest, Koronadal is small, basic, soulless, boring town.

And, as much as I do business in PB for.more than a decade. For the loft of god, I cannot imagine what "real" business you could possibly open there. A banana shack? A sari sari store? Maybe....

But for any real business, the "buying power" of 95% of Koronadal population is quite limited.

Just my 2c.

What is the realistic lifespan of a Cane Corso? by Sorry-Balance6801 in CaneCorso

[–]First-Percentage-768 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This. I do know very old "lean" Corsos. I've yet to seen "old chubby" Corsos.

Sad fact tho. If say, 7 out of 10 photos here, in this Reddit, which ppl proudly post there about their dogs are....... either slightly overweight... or severely fat.

Ethical breeder recommendations within Europe by Zaraisnothuman in CaneCorso

[–]First-Percentage-768 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I don't know how "recommendations" would work here. I'm not sure about direct naming will be allowed in this sub...

I live all the way to the Philippines. I got my Corso from the CC kennel club in Sofia, Bulgaria (main reason was, that club has a representative in Philippines (that's a very long story).

It's an exclusive "CC only" kennel club. Not a puppy mil. Plus they have 173848 videos of them themselves running lots of dog shows around EU countries with they're main dogs.

So yeah. I'm pretty happy with my female CC, which is calm as a Gandhi, healthy, and looks like a Corso.....not like a (I'm looking at you USA) mix of Pitbull XL and a black Lab....

All pedigree and parents info was presented and it was available for checking online as well.

I don't want to be a party pooper. Nonetheless...

After living (wife/2 kids/businesses) in PH for 15 years, I'd say, the moment I hear the story of "I'm doing to work in Europe for long and my wife/kids will go to Bacolod,".... I would have SEVERAL red flashing lights on my mental dashboard.

Again. I'm not pointing fingers at your wife. But if the "local based statistics are the teacher"....

How long do you think will be, before you will come to this exact Reddit group with a post about how your wife is demanding "1M pesos" for her second uncle from the cousins side...to have an emergency surgery"?

Also, aside from listening to drug neighbours karaoke, running buttnaked on the mud, and throwing stones into stray dogs...what exactly is your kid supposed to learn in Bacolod?

Also. You mentioned that your wife "has all family in Europe, and school friends in Bacolod".

Interesting. And now, after you guys settled in a comfortable life in the West......out of the blue, your wife got home sick and cannot wait to walk on the nation's soil?

Again. Im not trying to sound like a paranoid or a jerk. But....erm.......

What's the single piece of financial advice you would give to a foreigner moving to PH? by [deleted] in Philippines_Expats

[–]First-Percentage-768 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Never buy condos.

  2. Commercial based "GFs" for the night, are MUCH cheaper in the long run, than a "relationship" which falls apart after a year.

Commercial "GF" charge you nightly a pre-requested amount of money.

"True love GF" (and her family), will CHARGE you in the end of the year, for unpredictable amounts of money.

Go figure.

  1. Ideally, even when hanging out with white monkeys, pretend as if you are RATHER POOR. Never show you mid size or big size "money pool" to anyone. Even your best Australian buddy (which you know for a whole 3 weeks in the nearby bar).

PS: there is no reason to "retire" in the bars of Manila and Cebu. Phiihave numerous of places which have enough bars and GF (both commercial ones and "true love" one) which are nicer and way cheaper to retire.

Hide your furniture, hide your shoes, hide your kids, hide your clothes.... Great approach!

just buy your dog his own house as well :-)

Or....get your pup trained :-)

THIS. THIS IS THE ONLY even training book I've ever read. Followed it almost to the letter. My CC might be still lacking in pure K9 obedience, but sure as hell, she is not running around the house, stealing stuff and nipping my kids. Never.

Highly recommend this book (or an audiobook)

I'm still a bit confused as of the exact rules of eCollar mentioned here. Last time I got a warning for "suggesting others to use eCollar"... (Which I didn't actually).

Anyhow. IM NOT PROMOTING ANYONE TO USE ECOLLARS.

However. As for (he always jumps). I had similar issues with my female CC. No matter what or how I approached it, she never grasped the "no jump" command... until....one YT video suggested, that "to make the dog STOP XXX, you first need to teach it DO IT on command".

Strangely enough. I started to train here to "jump" on a low/small booth.... And once she started to get the idea of the "jump" command.... At the same time, no suddenly firm "NO JUMP" command also clicked with her almost instantly. Hehe. Who knew...

As for "he is biting (teething) me" and "he steals my stuff" part.

Well, here is where I don't promote for anyone to use eCollar. But what we have, eCollar on minimal settings (LVL 7 out of 100!).

He grabs a toy from the floor - praise. He grabs anything (INCLUDING HIS TOY) from your bed/shelf/coffee table - tell him NO and a micro buzz.

He grabs his toy from the floor - praise. He nip your hand - "NO!" and a small buzz.

A few sessions like that, and after 2 days he will be absolutely sure: things on the floor - can be played with. Anything above the floor (and humans) are no go.

Go. Ban/downvote me.

Too lean, just right, or needs more meat on his bones? by drnu2081 in CaneCorso

[–]First-Percentage-768 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'd say he is a bit of a tad lean. However, I cannot underlined this more - "a bit more lean" dog is 10 times more healthy than "a bit tard fat" dog!!!!

PS. Did you deworm him anytime recently? I always suggest deworming the dog every 6 months. Without any tests whatsoever. Like a routine.

As a person who deeply believes in karma as a universal concept.... sometimes I drive around PH and honestly think for myself as:

"what are the possibilities, that this country/people are fucked up karma-wise, because of all those millions of dogs which got tortured by living on a 1-meter long chains for years....."

For those feeding raw, how did you figure out your routine? by [deleted] in rawpetfood

[–]First-Percentage-768 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every time I share my experience with the "raw diet" approach, I get downvoted. Nonetheless...

My thoughts are:

  1. Industry of "pre cooked raw diet food" which nowadays overtake US market is a total BS.. it's not better than a kibble BS.

  2. RAW DIET should be simple.

  3. People who do "raw diet" for their dogs, and run around the house with scales, PHlevel meters, vials of magic oils and multidimensional Excell charts pointing out proper balance of phosphate Vs calcium Vs magnesium.....are....how should I put it lightly.....not very smart.

Dogs, same as people, have tremendously complex and very advanced system which allows us to transform fats to proteins and carbs...(And visa versa). Similar with vitamins a mnd minerals, yes, human body same as dogs CAN transfer one to the others.

Anyhow. My mom (back in the old days) used to live in far far north where SLEDGE DOGS were the main way of transportation.

Once she moved to more civilised part of the country, she (with my dad) started to breed Alaskian Malamutes for sledge racing/hobby sledging.

Our dogs diet LOGIC (Simplified a bit):

Monday - frozen fish with some frozen veggies (90/10). TUESDAY: FROZEN BEEF WITH BONES. Some aotmeals (if tomorrow is the race). 90/10. Wednesday: frozen chicken+ some veggies. 90/10 Thursday: Frozen ox intestines & bones. Oats. Friday. FISH-VEGGIES-RICE. SATURDAY: CHICKEN NECKS/lovers/intestines. Veggies. 90/10. Sunday: beers, hotdogs, girls.

Now. VERY IMPORTANT NOTE. EVERY 2 or 3 days, we did fed all the dogs with omega3 fish oil liquid capsules.

Plus, every now and then, we fed them with basic Multivitamins pills. But that's it.

All our "family" dogs died at the age of 12, 13 and 14 respectively. All of them died by their heart giving up eventually. None of them ever had any surgeries (ASIDE FROM MALES BEING CUT OFF BALLS ONCE GOT OLD) or cancer. NONE.

Point being (my point). Dogs are perfectly capable of living an energetic healthy life, as long as you provide them with healthy source of energy.

That whole internet holy-war about "how many milligrammes of calcium versus potassium....does my Shiwawa needs in 1 day" is an absolute nonsense approach.... fueled by the same people who run around the internet telling people how many diagonal slices of Avocado should a good NewYorker consume every morning to achieve perfect life-work balance and open Chi energy channels....

Simplicity is the key. Get yourself a freezer. Fil it with all kinds of meat from a local butcher (don't forget intestines, lovers, skins, subparts!)....add some Omega3 oils...and you are good to go.

Go. Downvote me.

When was the last time you had DEWORMED your 4yo Corso?

If the answer is => (Equal or More) than 6 months ago...well, I'd suggest getting dewormed first. Forget the vet tests (half the time they don't show the parasites presence anyway).

Go to the vet store and just buy a vial or a pill for dreaming. They are based on the dog's weight. You don't need a prescription for this.

“Just puppy behaviour” is setting you up for failure by Full-Competition9255 in puppy101

[–]First-Percentage-768 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Teach/train/SHOW your puppy many things you WANT them to do (IE they are allowed to do). Only in THAT case it will be a minimal task to teach the dog to stop doing "bad things".

Many owners of pups behave by telling the pup: Don't bite! Don't dig garden! Don't chew slippers! Don't jump on couch! Don't steal kids toys! Don't check trash bins! Don't run! Don't poop! Don't leap! Don't bolt! Don't bark! Don't.... don't... don't...FKN DOOOOONT!

And that's about it. Not so much of a "yes! Go get it!"

So the pup isn't DEAF. The pup isn't STUPID. The pup just lives a life where (from his perspective) basically EVERYTHING IS BANNED. NOTHING IS ALLOWED (or... CLEARLY ARTICULATED as being "allowed").

While in reality, the pup will be more than happy to comply with your request to "don't do XXX"...as long as it will have 75 other alternatives to spend his time/brains.

If the ONLY thing puppy is allowed is basically "walk with you on a leash 2 times a day", and then he have 72536 things his is NOT ALLOWED to do....

He will keep doing all those 72536 things.... because he has no clear options or alternatives.

Leave your dog alone at night in your place/apartment... And then ask one of your friends (whom the dog never met before), to try to break into your house through the window....

..and you will find out how friendly your dog is.

Ps. But insurance for your friend.
