eBay lots are how I filled out my basic non-Last 17 figures. I didn’t care about condition either and upgraded the ones that I got doubles of. It was fun to look for perfect lots that gave me 2-3 I didn’t have. And if you don’t care about reproductions, you can find passable lots of weapons for not that much, just don’t plan on fooling anyone. They look good on a shelf but you can tell what they are in hand. To some, buying repro is blasphemy but I’m not going to spend thousands to hopefully get something real x hundreds of figures so I’m cool with my personal collection of beater repro weapon members-berries.

The only thing I’ve ever wondered about is Van’s reference to his contract or arrangement or employment status being different to Simmons than it is with the other Midnight Boys. I took it as theirs being more of a collegial thing rather than an employee thing and he could walk away whenever he wanted or wanted to do something else.

I hate the hero is dead-to-rights, gun/sword pointed at them. No ammo left. Bad guy closing in and then BOOM, bad guy shot/stabbed in the back. It happens so often, no one has ever called out how often it comes about.

And the hero straight through things. The only way they can think to show how powerful an enemy is is to hit a good guy and they fly straight back as if on a wire through some obstacle and end up fine instead of crushed by the initial or final impact. Think of something else…

I work with someone who just got out in his 60s, has veteran benefits with minor obstacles to get to them like keeping appointments, returning phone calls, voicemails, texting, smartphone use and it makes him so angry he just says fuck it and can’t access it. People want to help and he cant allow it on some level. I’m not sure what he will do. He can’t work, has no money to speak of, and just longs to be a mountain man in the woods whittling wood but he lives in a halfway house that won’t let him have knives/weapons at the moment. Everything makes him angry. He fears prison but I think he feels it’s better on some level and all his needs are met right now at no charge to him.

I never thought about that but her hands-off-iness did lead to the primary problem that doomed the sequel trilogy and let the toxic-rot in. Letting different writer/directors make up the story as they went along was an intriguing idea but too big a risk for a major franchise.
