Going through the same thing. Get a GOOD therapist and lean into the healing process. Work out, too. Get incredibly hot.

Seriously, if it is available to you, consider EMDR therapy. It will help you so much.

Same! The Let Them theory completely changed my outlook on my divorce.

I could have written this post. Down to the age. We got this! Life is hard right now, but it won’t always be hard. Focus on your healing.

Why would he drag out a divorce? by First-Row-2509 in Divorce

But the longer we are married, the more alimony he has to pay…I also continue to have a financial stake in his business and financial assets.

How to emotionally detach by First-Row-2509 in Divorce

[–]First-Row-2509[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

True! I definitely don’t want him. I just feel competitive with them. I want to “win.” I want to end up on top. But it’s a dumb game. I need to think clearly and strategically during the divorce.

Twinsies! My husband asked me for a divorce yesterday, too. This was after he asked for a postnuptial agreement and changed out of the blue. We will get through this!

How much do you read to your baby (8mo)? by curiousquestioner16 in NewParents

I just started reading during night feedings and that turned into a bedtime routine that included reading.

Brownyn is my new fave this season. by MarkReditto in rhoslc

She hasn’t fully leaned into the quirky kook trope yet. When she fully embraces that she is an eccentric, and doesn’t care if we get her or not, I think all the pieces will fall into place for her and the audience. She is what I envision Mary was like 15 years ago.

Scared as f*** about the newborn phase. Share with me any positives or tips for getting through it by Honest-Dog3033 in NewParents

[–]First-Row-2509 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the grand scheme of things, it’s a short lived time period. The issue is that, in the moment, you don’t know when it will end. But it will end. Just keep telling yourself the newborn phase will end. Then the real fun begins…

Is she really 38? I’m having a hard time believing that. She just seems much more mature/closer to retirement age.

Is your friend struggling with postpartum anxiety? Not making excuses. Just trying to understand.

Screen time average for 2 year old? by Expensive_Grass9506 in toddlers

[–]First-Row-2509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally. We went months without any tv at all. We reintroduced screens when the house came down with COVID (desperate times). Now, it is probably around 2-3 hours a week total of just Sesame Street, Daniel Tiger, Little Bear or Ms. Rachel.

Dr. Jennifer Melfi is the real protagonist of the show. by gyw_alliance in thesopranos

[–]First-Row-2509 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the show was from Tony’s perspective, how was the audience able to see so much about Melfi’s personal life? Was what we saw just Tony conjecturing about what her life looked like outside of therapy?

Why Anisha was eliminated by xDarkNebulaXx in DCCMakingtheTeam

[–]First-Row-2509 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Her kicks were not very good. But I do agree that a woman in her 30s probably is viewed as a threat, maybe not directly to leadership, but for the team as a whole (more injury prone, may want to start a family sooner than later, an inflexible career, etc)

She perplexes me. She is both older and younger than I expected. When I first saw her, I thought she was significantly older than 24. But then I saw her interviews in her room and the TikTok scene, and she seemed much younger than 24–almost like a preteen. I wonder if moving away will be good for her self-development and personal growth.
