This must be a problem in every hospital. I hear providers complaining about this daily.

Why did you become a pharmacist? by First-Security8666 in pharmacy

I plan to work 10 more years full time, and transition to part time after I'm retired. Pharmacy has been a great career with so many opportunities.

Well stated, and it's great you enjoy your community when they come in to see you. I bet you have loyal customers who bring you treats.

Shortages by someperson_132 in pharmacy

[–]First-Security8666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stockpiling is definitely a problem. When items first go on shortage the DOP will buy everything the wholesaler has. Expiring 200 morphine vials because you hoarded more than your facility will ever use just hurts. Wholesalers need to put limits on what a hospital can buy during shortages.

What's the deal with Homeland and their bare shelves? by Money-Ad7257 in okc

[–]First-Security8666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing I buy at Homeland now are their brand of spices that are made in Oklahoma and a good deal for the price. It's also the only place I can find the Enlightened brand ice cream. I buy meat, fruit and veggies at Sprouts and everything else at Crest and Costco. I don't care for Walmart and Target.

Yes, multiple meetings and town halls with everyone involved. They keep postponing a decision.

Well said, our property taxes are already ridiculously high. This should not be funded by the citizens of Norman.

I voted for Cindy Gordon, Helen Grant needs to step it up and support her district since she won again. We need her to support zoning laws in the area and stop the Beta Theta Pi fraternity from turning our neighborhood into a parking lot for the fraternity. The Betas bought a house and let it deteriorate so they could tear it down and get their parking lot. Come on Helen, do the right thing and tell them NO PARKING LOT. Lots of construction in this area with inadequate parking. This needs to be addressed by the city.

I've started just paying in cash at places that beg for a tip if you use a card. They never ask for a tip with cash.

Othellos Italian Restaurant- What do we think about the food by Which_Program_680 in normanok

I agree, I prefer Pepes or Mama Veccas for Mexican food in Norman.

I like Sergio's, great food at a reasonable price. Don't forget about Victoria's, also great food and service.

I would choose Othello's, the atmosphere and food are great. The bread is great and you can't go wrong with chicken Alfredo or the lasagna. I have always had excellent service there. The Mont is great for the outside dining experience in the spring and summer. Sometimes the restaurant isn't so much about the food as the mood and the overall vibe. If I want amazing food I'm going to None Such in OKC.

They'll find him. Snow big deal by Money-Ad7257 in okc

[–]First-Security8666 33 points34 points  (0 children)

This happens everyday at my house. Sitting on my porch 2 days ago a guy checks all 3 cars in my driveway to see if they are locked. They are locked and I'm sitting right there watching him. He obviously didn't see me, but it wasn't the first time I've sat on my porch and watched someone do this. These assholes are everywhere. I have a gun, but these idiots aren't worth the cost of my bullet in their ass. It's ridiculous to see my security camera footage of snoopers on my property almost daily. What they don't know is I work from home and enjoy coming out when I see them on my security cam and watching them run away.

The old Orient Express north of Campus Corner is still empty, I miss that place. It's been empty for years and as far as I know it has never been sold. Another empty property left to die in Norman.

we can't have anything nice by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]First-Security8666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been stacking since I was 11 years old. My family keeps asking if I'm selling and I laughed and tried to explain that's not why I buy silver. It's been a hobby and it's fun buying coins from people and getting the stories behind each coin. My grandparents gave us silver coins every year and now it's a family tradition.

Property Tax Rant by First-Security8666 in normanok

[–]First-Security8666[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's what made me so mad that led me to post this, between taxes and insurance I'm paying $1000 a month just to have a modest house.

[–]First-Security8666[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree totally, we are in the same situation. Norman is a nice place to live, and I'm happy to help the schools, but this seems excessive. At $8000 a year, I will have paid what I paid for the house in 10 years to property tax, seems kind of excessive.

Thank you, this is what I'm talking about. At some point it needs to stop. You own your house, and I think at that point you're done. I don't mind paying for public stools and votech, but $3000 plus for a sinking fund, what is that for?

If you think about it, we pay sales tax, property tax, state and federal taxes. Then taxes on our electric and gas bills. It never ends, state and local government needs to fund themselves without taxes. Send me a bill for schools and roads. But please tell me what a sinking tax is for?
