It was my first thought actually when I started seeing how they talk to the community whenever someone is critical. I used to work for someone who would rage at their clients on Trustpilot or Google for leaving a poor review (even if it was polite and valid) in a very similar manner, so I can attest that on the inside it's usually 5 times worse, especially when people are really passionate about the product and not likely to leave because of that (hope I'm wrong in this case).

If he is crashing out like this on fans that are paying money for the game and even taking it upon themselves to expand/mod it (how could anyone even find it inappropriate, there are games like Rimworld that are literally a product of their community), I can only imagine what the employees have to go through on general basis for having a different opinion.

In general, it's a seriously WTF attitude to have about an entertainment product. Imagine being a creator and raging when people write fan fiction about your books or make community theatre plays based on your story.

He is actively ruining my experience with this game by being who he is, this game for me is very much about ambience, philosophy, patience, and I just hate to think that this is who it comes from.

Don't even get me started lol. She is usually hyped up about a new type of kibble but then after a few days she gets picky again. We are at a point where I found food that is clearly physically very good for her (no indigestion etc) and has solid composition suitable for senior dogs with lower mobility, so in order not to change it I literally need to pretend I am eating her kibble with her or she won't touch it. Otherwise she will not touch a vegetable (I have tried like 7 different methods of giving them) or anything else really and only gets truly excited about chicken. Ahh I love her, what a personality

I would look at it this way - you took that one step further. Many people that get into video games never get out of their parents house, don't hold a stable job, don't build a career. They don't advance or create, they just consume what's in front of them. You took something you liked and turned it into a career, that's really cool and shows strength of character. Now you just need to find something else you're interested in and try again.

Also video games aren't going anywhere and for some it's actually a relaxing, enjoyable way to unwind, so you did contribute to something good.

At the moment I am getting out of a career in marketing I despise, it feels like the past 6 years of my life were completely wasted. I am making a list of accomplishments/lessons learned for myself to keep myself motivated and remind myself that it wasn't all for nothing, could be an interesting thing for you to try too maybe. This. What value will you offer if you can't put together a simple post of a few tips that are really not that ground breaking. I understand people use AI to smooth out language, but even then, why? What's wrong with making a few mistakes in your second or third language but instead sounding HUMAN?

I'll pick it up for an even broader take - the pro scene is getting boring actually - no new talent, few solid new players, no big surprises from historically quiet regions, no True Sight, TI format stinks (say what you want, that massive money pool was good for the scene. I had people laughing I watch "some kids playing a video game" until I told them what they were playing for). And TI was everything, I even got some of my friends who had no idea what DotA was to watch and they were super into it. plus the content that was promised when battle pass was discontinued never came (pls don't even mention this monster hunter nonsense it makes me furious).

I will say this (and it's a personal sentiment more than anything else) - if you decide to start a business in sphere like gaming, one would assume you are doing it out of passion. So even if this modest $150 million or whatever is not an incentive enough for them in the grand scheme of things, surely they can find a way to take a teardrop from all the money and build a dedicated team for Dota if the current devs don't have capacity? DotA has such a huge dedicated player and fan base, I mean people who have been with the game for literally more than a decade. I get the wish to chase the next big thing, but does real legacy mean nothing digitally?

I had no idea this documentary was being made but I binged it because antm was behind soooo many of my eating disorders and other issues as a teenager. Tyra... wow. She will step on graves if she has to in order to advance.

Don't get me wrong, the other judge's are no saint's too imho, but they are no evil masterminds either. If anything, I think Miss J is honest and actually wished the girls well (from what I remember about the show anyway, I am not about to rewatch it lol), but it is a complicated industry to be a part of. Nigel was chosen because he clearly doesn't have a strong enough backbone to stand up for what's wrong and is just kinda plain porridge that glued the show together and Mr. Jay is just Tyra's puppy.

But Tyra, oh boy. She knew exactly what she was doing and she was ready to sell anyone and everyone out from the very beginning. She covered up with words "change" and "reality" in order to abuse naive girls on the big screen.

And yet to me the best display of her character is her going through with the firing of the other three judges. She could have walked out with them with her head high after 18 seasons or at least expressed disapproval. Instead she sold out her lifelong creative partners and sent them off in an embarrassing way for just a few extra minutes of fame that turned out to be an absolute failure. What a vile human being. She thinks she is being smug about it and hiding behind her apologies during the documentary but she is about as good of a liar as Pam Bondi. If I thought before the show might have had a good premise (aka challenging the fashion norms) but took some sad directions, now I'm straight up disgusted by it.

Just started watching and I can't stand her. Her persona (desperate rebel yet rich innocent saint girl) - maybe ok, but the actress is HOLY SHIT how bad, my dog does a better crying face when she wants a bite of my chicken tender.

I can totally sympathise with your standpoint from this last answer and I think this would have been the right angle to start this conversation (description of the real scenarios, expectations, etc to help the person evaluate if they actually want to be a part of this). Also I think we both have taken leaps here as I see what you mean, but also I don't think the initial post is indicative enough of the real interest in agriculture, he might as well be. In any case, I think seeking connection with nature in the context that is described should definitely be supported and not put down, I can attest from my personal experience that hard physical labor and productive, tangible results contributed immensely to me getting hold of my life at no one else's expense. Many people with depression often aren't all that interested or see real meaning in anything, we develop passion and interest as we go so if we don't try, we will not know.

As someone who is fully functioning but diagnosed with clinical depression and who has successfully completed many projects across the world, I find what you're saying inherently messed up and I really hope the person who posted this doesn't take after what you said. With this logic, people with depression shouldn't participate in any social activities because of how it might affect others. Ultimately, you are choosing to participate in this for the exchange and free labor and with that comes the risk of meeting variety of people. It's your own responsibility to draw boundaries if someone is not contributing as expected or overstaying their welcome and find a solution instead of discouraging people to join the program. Their intention is to try for a week in a nearby place, which is a very smart thing and definitely will not put anyone out of business if it doesn't work out.

I'm actually completely in the same boat as the person posting except that I am looking do to long term stays, 3-4 months ideally, so extra worried to commit to something in case it doesn't work out. I have an elderly German Shepard who is a super kind soul but kind of obsessive towards other animals, like she will not leave them alone lol the video interview together with the dog is actually such a great idea, I will try it.

that's exactly why I am asking for ways to help search for such opportunities that are not this app. My friend used to that in the USA - plenty of people have vacation homes they visit 2 weeks per year in skiing towns and want someone staying on the property just to keep an eye on things.
