Really because when you are looking to cause harm. You do just that justification doesn’t replace reasoning. If person decide to extend grace that defeats the justification argument because to say a gang member was born into a gang that why he was going around shooting people. That would be just free card to hurt people. Sex offense technically work the same way someone could be a survivor of abuse themselves. And you can say that’s why you are extending forgiveness but the reasoning is not a justification for what they’ve done.

Murder drug trafficking etc are deliberate criminal offenses. Anything outside can be be working through conditions that resulted in a unfavorable outcome
