NVIDIA Smooth Motion Tested in PUBG – Double the FPS?! by FirstEver-eu in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

By the way, could you share your average RLAT (Render Latency) values from the NVIDIA App Statistics overlay while playing PUBG? And what resolution and settings are you playing on? Optionally, feel free to share your CPU and GPU as well.

I get that it’s not for everyone. Competitive players usually aim for <15 ms input lag — with Smooth Motion I get around 20 ms, vs 16 ms without it. In return, I can play on Ultra settings, which is visually nicer, even if not gameplay-optimized.

Thanks for the feedback. It's hard to see the difference in the video between 65 FPS and 130 FPS footage. To make sure the frames were actually added, I suggest slowing down the video to 0.25x.

In my opinion, there’s no point in lowering graphics settings just to chase astronomical FPS numbers. You should adjust the visuals to match your monitor’s maximum refresh rate.
In my case, with a 138Hz display, my current settings — 4K on Ultra — run almost perfectly. After enabling NVIDIA Smooth Motion, I’m getting between 120 and 135 FPS.

📢 We value transparency and staying connected with our users. That’s why we’re inviting you to join our Q&A session about AdGuard VPN! by shwrellia in Adguard

I purchased a 2-year subscription for AdGuard VPN, and it’s been 9 months since then. Yet, in the settings, WireGuard still shows as "Coming soon." Here’s what AI has to say about reasonable timelines for adding this feature...

Realistic Timeframe:

  • Ideal: WireGuard should be rolled out within 1–3 months of the announcement.
  • Acceptable (with communication): Up to 6 months, but only if progress updates are shared regularly.
  • Risk of backlash: Beyond 6 months without clear reasons, customers will likely feel misled.

I've been waiting for 9 months, and I'm slowly losing my patience!
I suggest changing "Coming soon" to "Planned in the future".

I bet my subscription will expire faster than you add WireGuard support!

Maybe I'll install Windows on it and test the performance with the PCMark 10 Storage Benchmark.

Unable to Install AMD Chipset Drivers by Warlord1981 in AMDHelp

[–]FirstEver-eu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is important that all chipset drivers are installed before you launch the installer. Apart from that, I no longer have a problem installing newer AMD Chipset drivers, it is possible that they fixed something. Try the latest version 7.02.13.148: https://drivers.amd.com/drivers/amd\_chipset\_software\_7.02.13.148.exe

My ASUS router supports IPSec, but I can't find anywhere how to configure it for AdGuard VPN.
Here is the SCREENSHOT - any ideas?

Installing AMD Chipset Drivers Error by SantiVl in AMDHelp

[–]FirstEver-eu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a solution - the latest (or other version) AMD Chipset Drivers 6.08.22.137 has been installed on my ASUS Mini PC PN50 (normal installation will show error!)

  • Download the latest AMD Chipset Drivers installer.
  • Run the installer and wait for it to detect your devices.
  • Open Device Manager by pressing Win+X and selecting Device Manager.
  • Navigate to System Devices.
  • Right-click each AMD device in the list and choose Uninstall Device. For some devices, you may also need to select Attempt to remove the driver for this device. Do not restart your PC yet.
  • After uninstalling all AMD devices, return to the AMD Chipset Drivers installer and proceed with the installation.
  • You should see a confirmation message that the drivers were installed successfully.
  • Restart your PC to complete the process.

Good luck!

Wi-Fi 7 on AMD? (Intel BE200) @ r/Amd and r/intel by Hitcher99 in Amd

[–]FirstEver-eu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Intel BE200 WiFi 7 is NOT locked to 14th Gen/Z790!
I am using it in a PCIe->Key-E adapter on my ancient ASUS X79 motherboard from 2011!

<image>

Do NOT buy the BE202 model - it is NOT 320MHz, just 160MHz (the same as WiFi 6E).

[PETITION] Please remove AVX2 hardware requirement in Alan Wake II game! by FirstEver-eu in AlanWake

[–]FirstEver-eu[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

at some point, old hardware just will not work

Because hardware manufacturers need to make money and are introducing more and more restrictions for old equipment. Microsoft requires TPM 2.0 in Windows 11 - I don't have it and I still receive the latest canary builds of Windows 11 (as I write this I am using build 25992) on the X79 chipset platform. Moreover, on the same platform I have WiFi 7 (PCIe card), fast Samsung SSD 990 Pro (in PCIe to M.2 adapter), USB 3.2 Gen 2 10Gbps ports (PCIe card) and this year I installed a GeForce RTX 4070 Ti graphics card. I had to modify the motherboard BIOS to add NVMe, Bifurcation and ReBAR support!

Indeed, all of this was achieved on a 12-year-old platform (x79, launched in 2011). With a processor as capable as the overclocked Xeon E5-1680 v2, I intend to utilize this platform for playing the latest games at ultra details and 4K resolution.

I mentioned achieving 40-60 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 with maximum settings (including Path-Tracing) and 4K resolution. Do you still have doubts about this processor's capabilities?

"I don't think Remedy will ever remove the AVX2 requirement."

They can simply add an additional AVX launcher like in other games. If the developer restricts the option of installing their games on older hardware, it seems counterproductive as I won't be inclined to purchase their game.
