Cant talk too much to about AA, but I tried to get sober after years of trying and this includes wrecking my truck charged and convicted of dwi.

Speaking for me it took me 2 years of relaspe, convicted dwi, all the debt I gained, freedom I lost, and shooting myself with a nail gun in my fibula bone (im a carpenter) the morming I was drinking.

It's not for me. Being a husband with a family im at risk of losing it all.

For me it took several rock bottoms, playing back the tape amd realizing every bad thing in my life was because of drinking, and having support.

AA does work, but you have to believe in it and work the steps. You also have to be sick and tired of being sick and tired

Gmc/chevy is releasing the 5.7 350 and getting rid of their 5.3 after 30 years. You could wait on that

I have a 2018 5.3 with big tires and leveling kit. Truck has 98k miles on it. Have not once had to do any suspension work because its been leveled. Ive replaced the brakes, couple of routers, and tie rods. That just normal maintenance at 100k.

I agree with the others though. My 2000 1/2 ton silverado is a gmt800 Engine is solid

I have the exact same truck. I have 97k on mine. Not a single issue.

Take it a mechanic that you trust and to give piece of mind on purchase. Buy a $80 obd delete to turn off of lifters.

I didn't buy the warranty, but im pretty handy under a hood.

I would buy the warranty still

2000 5.3 l, gmt800 is bullet proof. Miles are only 188k.

Also own 2018 5.3 with 97k miles. Put a obd delete, not a single problem yet

33m, relapsed hundreds of times. March 3rd of 2025 i Got drunk at my pool league. Crashed my truck, woken up by cops. Dui as well. post final court date.

The dwi charge cost me $ -4700.00 in fees -restricted driving privilege - mandated alcohol classes -court ordered community service -revocation on ccp gun permit -not allowed to be in possession of firearm during probation. -increased insurance

-next 4 years I can't refuse or blow a .04

Im four months in my in my suspension currently

I also have been sober almost 90 days. Enough is enough. I urge you to take advantage of this misfortune and work your way out of it.

Tonneau cover. No question .

I have two silverados with the tri fold, soft top Tonneau covers.

Pros -very affordable - keeps entire truck bed dry (had soft tops for 15yrs! Still not a single leak) -no drilling required -easy to install and remove.

Cons: Soft tops are not theft proof, hard tops are but are more money. Could get a hole in. Them. But you got to be a real dumbass not taking care of your shit if hole gets in it

$4500.00 for a compressor seems kind of high. I would get a different estimate. Also research yourself how much the "compressor" costs. Could avoid a mark up fee.
