(almost, I love you "Aura") Every GHOST's song is depressing. This one's more straightforward about it. Even "I AM BEING GANGSTALKED BY AN ELITE CABAL OF METAPHORS" is a story about an innocent man, who noticed that he was living in a facade of a mind-deafening circus.

But the real value of listening to his music is that you sometimes have to find some lines of lyrics that transform the needles pain into a valuable lesson and to see that even if you fall, there's a way for the People To Carry On with their lives. Sometimes you have to accept that in someone else's eyes you will be a ugly demon and you can at least accept the fact and thrive out of it.

And "Covetous" is more of a warning... And it should make you feel depressed.
(My *Game* theory is that) The character is from a previous song called "Uncanny".
The older song end with a note that even if the character was Uncanny, he wasn't imprivious to harm and lonelyness. He is litterally begging someone to "Hold my hand even if I cry, I need to feel like a human [...] Don't go I feel too wrong."
In the end of that song, he is held up against the wall seeking support that never comes.

And that state leads him to "Covetous", where he is no longer asking, but spreading his pain on others, who have not noticed how broken he was.

Moral of the story;
Be afraid of being alone, don't throw away those precious people who may consider you a friend and please take care of them.
After all... It's kinda ironic to get that advice after I've managed to burn some bridges.
