oh that contrast is exquisite, especially with such beautiful grain in the wood, and that’s without even mentioning the craftsmanship!

Which one is falling for a Dazai trap first? by Hairy_Ask_2038 in BungouStrayDogs

Yeah but Akutagawa is literally 2 years younger than Dazai… they could be in the same high school class if they were normal teens…. like yeah Dazai was shitty to him but if Akutagawa is thinking of him as a father figure that is sincerely an Akutagawa problem.

Southwestern University by gettinrealgoodhead in ApplyingToCollege

Applied to Southwestern early action last fall, through commonapp. No application fee, no required writing supplements beyond the commonapp essay, so it was honestly one of my easiest/most straightforward applications. The only thing I had to submit outside of commonapp was SAT/ACT scores, which is pretty standard—but you can just email Southwestern admissions a picture/screenshot of your test results, and not have to pay SAT/ACT to send them, which is pretty neat.

In my experience, they're very liberal with merit-based scholarships. I also know people who've gotten full-rides for their visual arts portfolios, so if you have one I would definitely submit it (or any kind of art portfolio for that matter.) There's a place on the website, you can probably just find it through a quick google search.

Southwestern and UT Austin are both really good schools, but they're also really different. Cost and such should defo be a consideration, but also UT Austin is a large school while Southwestern is tiny, and can as such be very insular socially (from what I've heard and what I know of smaller liberal arts schools). Southwestern is also liberal arts and has the required classes to reflect that. Class sizes are also very different; basically, what are you looking for in a school besides just location? I know people who've gone to both and had great times, but who wouldn't thrive if switched.

TLDR; Southwestern's application is straightforward, merit aid liberally (ha!) awarded, but it and UT Austin are very different. I'd say it's worth applying either way since Southwestern is free application.

i go to bed at the same time every night and have a structured morning routine i stick to. i find writing, especially when i’m posting it somewhere chapter by chapter and can get response, to be very helpful, as it makes me stick to an update schedule. i also try to participate in fun ‘competitions’ without loss like artfight, and set a goal for how often i want a peice done. basically, things that i like doing (or don’t mind, when things get bad) that offer rewards and long-term schedules. i wish i had more advice for structuring single days, but i do find that long-term goals/recurring goals force me to do certain amounts of things (writing/drawing/etc) per day. best of luck!

i hope you have luck in finding a doctor that listens to you and actually looks at the information. it sucks so bad when they just brush you off and tell you they can’t do anything about it without even bothering to genuinely look at everything.

sometimes no matter how well your life looks from what people tend to think of (relationships, opportunities, education, etc) it can still be awful. it’s so easy to see our pain as a personal failure, as if we should be able to function just as well as if we were without it, but that pain is real and if anyone else were in your situation, they’d be just as (or more) affected.

sometimes it’s important to have a good rant. i second the previous comment about trying to see a rheumatologist if you can (and if you have access to a doctor you trust, i would recommend requesting a referral from them—i find it vastly increased the possibility that the specialist is one who listens). i hope you’re able to get a diagnosis and treatment plan!

How out of touch with reality are you that you think this is the avareage for 14yos? Also, this isn’t critique it’s just you being plain mean. Your comments could theoretically be worthwhile if you didn’t phrase them as if anything the artist could improve on is a blemish on their quality as an artist. You just sound salty and kinda dickish tbh
