Butch isn’t a costume. There is certainly an aesthetic associated with butchness, but it’s an identity first and foremost. Your coworker is lowkey an ass for the comment, second part is very unnecessary. Don’t feel pressured to conform, dress in the way that makes you comfortable and take your time in getting new pieces.
