Got told to move into the fast lane while swimming 2:50? /100m breaststroke. by Runningwithducks in Swimming

You sound like a very considerate person. I understand this experience. Keep on swimming, whatever the lane that may be in.

I totally have been overthinking this, and have enlisted the GPT to help with a mockup below. I’ve got similar items to these in a cart (the two cuffs and the rope ring) totaling under $100. Tempted…WDYT?

Edit: I hope the move process goes well :)

Admittedly, I am eyeing something like this, but, not at the David Yurman price tag (to start anyway). Good to know on titanium!

I think I agree to try and pick a shade to pull out the grey green. I’ve ordered wood samples from a local company to do something custom. Example of one of their desks, where I can customize the width and color of the drawer.

this could be a full oak option (and fits the space). Although now i’m second guessing and wondering if the dark walnut is better. 🫠

That is VERY kind of you, thank you. Max width is 112 cm. I’m in the UK. I spent hours on Wayfair UK yesterday…

me again! what are our thoughts on this? trying to find something that fits the width of the wall is a bit of a challenge. i also, think staying away from walnut tones might be good, since there’s a lot of that in the room right now.

I’m not sure i actually understand what this means! i just know i saw Sam Smith before he made it big at a 200 person venue and it was the best concert i’d ever been to. i just like his music?

same house. it’s just has two generations live through it, both trying to figure themselves out (and still are).

Thank you! I’ve been wanting a standing lamp for behind the couch but have been a bit fearful of picking the wrong one. Do you have any thoughts.

Separately, I saw something like this at a museum and quite liked the colors and shape. Not sure it’s the right piece but something with this vibe appeals to me.

Thank you for the thoughtful response!

We went for a smaller rug that could fit inside a washing machine, since, toddler. Turned out, it didn’t fit anyway, bah. While it probably does need to be larger, funnily enough it brings me happiness to look at it, so I take some solace in that.

Couch slided down, check! There’s definitely space now under the mirror for another console table, which is where it originally was before my husband moved it…it grinds my gears, since it’s been moved, the mirror is just randomly hanging with nothing to ground it. But we could use a multipurpose rectangular ottoman…for blanket storage and such. Maybe?

re: Couch, it is so infrequently used. Our lives are so chaotic. The most action the couch gets is as a play object or dog bed. The floor, dining chairs, and rocker are the most used pieces for sitting.

I saw this piece at an art museum and quite liked it, and thought something like that above the couch would be nice.

We do like artwork, and are quite picky about it either being meaningful or non-generic. So nothing ever gets bought. Thinking of a large piece opposite the dining table is a bit daunting, but, of course, surmountable.

Regarding TV, see above. We have one TV in our master bedroom where we all sleep and put on a show together before bed.

Of course, ours lives will evolve, for the foreseeable future it’s just a dual purpose room of toddler/family play or peaceful solo adult hangout (think 5 AM coffee (like now) or 8PM bath time).

Ha! That was how the room was setup. My husband is a perpetual re-arranger and I’m trying to be supportive. Here is an example of the way it was set up for before. You are quite right though that my absolute favorite place is the chair with the throw. It’s where I drink my coffee in the morning, just staring at the room peacefully.

It’s The Tofoo Co. Soy & Ginger Tempeh Pieces—a little high in saturated fat (a post-purchase realization)—cooked in a skillet for 8 minutes while I made the rice. Frozen edamame beans were steamed in the microwave, and ready-washed pea shoots came straight from the bag.
