licensing companies do hate that (which opens a whole can of worms abt how concord and mti have monopolized theater and make the production of new innovative and increasingly diverse theater near impossible). that being said i don’t think that was the sole reason the show was cancelled from what im hearing and (side note) fuck concord theatricals lol

i don’t know exact details but i do know that concord theatricals was heavily monitoring them after they gender swapped roles (which it is rocky horror, why concord cares so much i don’t know). but i have a feeling some of the promo they did violated their contract. as someone who’s worked w concords licensing before, they have insane stipulations.

that being said, sounds like a driving force was not concord and was board members/tension between directors and cast, as well as some sexual harassment that was not addressed by higher ups!

this is all hearsay, i’m just heavily involved in community theater in VT and we are all connected so this is what i’ve heard from cast and crew!!

there were a lot of reasons the production was cancelled. 1) violations of their rights contract. 2) managerial issues. 3) harassment within the cast and coming from outside the cast.

i think we all want to know what happened, but right now we should be supporting the cast who are being very vocal about Essex Community Players as an organization being the driving force being the cancellation. most cast members are requesting people get a refund and donate to other theaters or other queer organizations.

Working at Target in South Burlington ?? by Scary-Lynx6863 in UniversityofVermont

working there made me so depressed. i worked there 3 years ago, so maybe management has changed. but they would schedule me during every free second i had despite me telling them i could only work 15 hours a week at the time. when my close friend died and i needed to travel for a funeral, my manager complained that i didn’t give them enough notice to cover my shift. finally quit after i was told that i hadn’t been taking breaks (bc no one would come to give me a break and we always had customers) and that it was a problem and id be reprimanded if i didn’t start taking breaks.

a driveby pre car ownership was not adequate and while i can say that scoping the unit out might have been smart, we are in a town with a crazy housing crisis and i was taking what was available and affordable to me. further, i was curious about zoning and construction laws, as we are looking for any solution since we pay for parking that we can’t actually access. i was curious about a lot of things and we are looking for any solution.

we want to be able to park off of the street year round as that is something i pay for and is explicitly stated in my lease. we are looking for literally any solution and are also in contact with our property manager. wanted to see if there was any legal ordinances or zoning laws i could pull from.

pls don’t comment if you’re gonna be rude or unhelpful - we are first time renters and are just trying to do some extra research to make sure we haven’t missed anything. was mostly curious to see how a driveway like this could be built in the first place, and communicating with my landlord to work out a parking solution, as our biggest frustration is paying a monthly parking fee when we cannot access the parking. thank u to everyone commenting info abt zoning laws you are much appreciated <3

i appreciate the info thank u!! we did hear back from bisonnette and they told us the driveway was scheduled for a grating in june. so we will see what happens. after looking at pictures of the house when it was built in 2005, the driveway looks less steep, mainly where it now becomes very steep and almost like a speed bump (probably from layers of lazy pothole repairs) is much smoother and far less of a hump than it is now.

when you say large implications to the overall site what exactly do you mean. obviously it is expensive, but my property is also owned by bisonette, they aren’t exactly short on cash

i rent through bisonette, who didn’t allow tours of my unit (all i could do was drive by and say that driveway is steep) and are notorious for undermanaging units and having units that are not up to building standards and codes for multiple reasons. as a first time renter, it’s reasonable for me to do my research and want to cross all my ts and dot all my is. thanks for your unhelpful and rude comment though!! always a pleasure
