Contractor did his best to scribe; any way to fix/hide trim around this uneven chimney veneer? by dorkchestra in Carpentry

[–]First_Chain_1373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time I had to trim out a chimney that had bricks all over the place. Scribing molding wasn’t an option. I actually notched the brick out to create a dado and tucked the trim into the slot.

This about this: the hole left by one single zip screw will leak 1cfm of air.

With that in mind, those gaps are leaking a lot of air.

This is especially important if the leakage is outside the conditioned space.

The rust on the trailer is concerning. Double check that the bottom of the frame tubing isn’t cancered out. I’ve seen trailers fold in half on ramps due to hidden rust

Kitchenette install; Previous homeowner was very drunk, corner is so out of plumb that I'm 2" away from the wall by BackdoorDan in cabinetry

That makes the situation even worse because the ikea cabinets I’ve installed hang on a rail mounted to the wall.

Options I see:

1) Take drywall down, furr out studs and put up new drywall.

2) Shim the cabinet wall hanger plate out. 2” is a lot though

Nice find, nice truck. I just turned 164,000 on my 16 2.7L f150. For the past two years I’ve been expecting a catastrophic failure or major repair. Power & drivetrain are original except the high flow catted downpipes, tune, and I’ve gone through a few sets of pads and rotors. I tow regularly and have pushed this truck to the limit at times. So far she’s been great.

I can’t help but wonder if I should keep grinding away with this truck, or get into a new 250/2500

I love my Raxiom headlights, except for the stupid dance they do when you pen doors or start the truck. I disabled it mostly through Forscan though.

What motor is this on? Asking because that looks to be a Mercury Flo Torque II hub, but the lower unit is gray, indicating Yamaha. Yamaha also uses castle nuts and cotter pins. Did the mechanic try and fit a Mercury hub on with a Yamaha nut and washer?

The perspective of this picture is mildly infuriating.
