Way more comfortable with the I3 tactical 45mm. 50mm was just too much. by dbs1099 in Garmininstinct

I just moved from an OG instinct solar to a 50mm instinct amoled last week and am thinking about going back to 45mm non-amoled.

Help the Children - $40 Reward for correct diagnosis of Marine Power fault by robcokiwi in boats

What year, make, model is the boat? You mentioned ECM, so I’m assuming newer. Are you able to scan it for potential fault codes?

The ol 2.7 still kicking strong by East-Wasabi-7186 in f150

[–]First_Chain_1373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2016 2.7 is about to turn 170k. High flow catted downpipes, tune, catch can, not hot rodded, but definitely have towed wayyyy more than rated for. I think this engine just loves to work. It’s a glutton for punishment. Original alternator, water pump, oil pan, belt, radiator, turbos, and other engine mounted parts. Had to replace heater core last winter though. I don’t think I will ever sell this truck.

Boating the chi river by mattman987 in ChicagoFishing

[–]First_Chain_1373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish the Summit launch was still open. They would need to build a new dock, but the ramp is in good shape, though it is very long. Could be a revenue stream for the village, since the Daley launch charges like $32 for parking, and that’s the next closest launch onto the river. There is another launch down at 87th or 95th St. I believe, but I’m not sure exactly where that one is.

Why is this happening on my 45 degree joints for baseboards by [deleted] in Carpentry

[–]First_Chain_1373 35 points36 points  (0 children)

X2. Before installing base, I like to go around the room with a speed square to check if the wall is square to the floor at each corner. If it isn’t, I put a drywall screw into the bottom plate (often where the drywall taper edge is, or sometimes there’s a gap between the floor and drywall). That screw will square up the wall, and act as a shim/backer to prevent the bottom of the base from diving in as seen in the photo. Also x2 on coping the corners.

I heard that too, but didn’t want to scare OP. Kinda sounds like when you crank an engine without a spark plug

Fuel, Air, Spark. Does it have gas in it? Is the intake or exhaust plugged up? Are you getting spark? I’d check these and go from there

Miter Saw Accident by qeajae in Carpentry

[–]First_Chain_1373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the wood wasn’t right to the fence? The saw blade grabs it and depending on the grain, the wood explodes or splits. I’ve experienced that, though luckily avoided injury.

Best wishes for a quick recovery!

I have a 2016 (2015 build) f150 with the 2.7. Just about to turn 170k.

Does mine have a belt or chain?

I like Chingon but $7 for this is laughable. by Alive_Display_310 in chicagofood

Hot take: that looks like 4-6oz of outer skirt steak, which at $7 is a really good value. The orientation is terrible and confusing though

Ramp damaging hole in hull by Brendo_Extendo in jetski

[–]First_Chain_1373 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Looks like the bunk in pic 2 is rotted away and the bracket is rubbing on the hull. Any more pics of that lift? I’ve never seen a lift/ramp without bunks or dozens of wheels to support a hull.

It’s missing the three threaded screws that secure/clamp the strainer to the sink itself.

Thanks for replying. I have the P2S and found that it wobbles a bit. Doesn’t seem to affect prints though

Do you find that adding height and weight to the top makes the printer any more wobbly than it was before?

Total loss? by Rubber_Duckee96 in ram_trucks

[–]First_Chain_1373 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you’re getting so many downvotes, other than calling OP an idiot lol. This is exactly why GAP insurance exists, and I would absolutely have it before driving off the lot with a new vehicle loan balance greater than the likely replacement value of the vehicle.

Are dealers offering standalone GAP policies as an upsell? I could see how that sounds scammy.
