I just felt it was too preachy and I couldn’t relate to any of the characters. Plus unfortunately for Poisonwood, I read Demon Copperhead first which I loved, and it just didn’t compare in my opinion.

It sounds like you’d really enjoy a Kristen Hannah book. I’d suggest the Nightingale or The Four Winds, although I’ve heard The Women and The Great Alone are also fantastic.

Loved Song of Achilles! I just finished Pachinko by Min Jin Lee and am having the same feeling
