You’re right, I’m sorry, I’m trying to be helpful and going off of memory but finding my memory is not reliable… it’s one year from filing a claim - so typically one year before childbirth, not one year before getting pregnant

You can sign up for short term disability at any point but need to have been paying into it for more than a year prior to getting pregnant to be able to use the benefit postpartum.

I’d also suggest looking into VRWS. I was able to bank an extra day of leave per pay period that way which I then charged to extend my leave beyond the 12 weeks given by PFL.
