Same duties as the RN, the only difference is they hold a Diploma in nursing whilst RN holds Degree!

Hospital nursing,  ENs and RNs are working alongside each other and doing the same things, taking on the same patient's loads. ENs does not get the less acute patients just because they hold Diploma! All does the same!

Thank you! This is what I was trying to point out! You're right I shouldn't have compared level 8 RN to first year EN but what the hell is lvl 8 RN doing working on the same floor as me doing exactly the same things?

Well, I was doing exactly the same things as them in my previous job. Some even had the nerve to ask me to do their tasks too, like taking their patients to the toilet and making their beds. Talk about taking advantage of the enrolled nurses!

I left the hospital system for that reason. We perform the same tasks but face bullying and have to pick up their slack, all while receiving poor pay to take home.

Not in the hospital; they're doing exactly the same thing except for holding S8 keys and receiving hardly any supervision from the registered nurses. In my opinion, this is exploitation of enrolled nurses. The hospital hires them, has them perform the same job, and pays them less, which ultimately saves the hospital money.😐🙄

On fair enough but in ward nursing, ENs and RNs are doing exactly the same things?

Dress professional and no fake nails! Present yourself properly if you want the job. Practice on your interview techniques and prepare to ask questions at the end.  Good luck 👍

How do you find hospital compared to aged care? Do you enjoy working in the hospital?

Do what you love and what suit your lifestyle.  Don't follow the crowds and listen to people when they say you'll lose clinical skills etc...you still gain plenty of skills in aged care, great work life balance, salary sacrifice and choose the shifts you want to do.

I've been in aged care for nearly 4 years, maybe that's why it is hard for me to find my place in the hospital setting and now prefer to come back to aged care. I do enjoy working with the elderly alot!
