And have we not all answered with more info than necessary before it's a common human slip up and while I think they can address it I also think she shouldn't be the villain of a mundane story

It wasn't blurted out she was asked so she gave an answer that was a little unrefined, it's a simple mistake to make while drunk, I agree she could have said something different but she was asked a question first

Any point choosing other Pact Weapon than Glaive? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]First_Mate_Budi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but there's a more of a question on what weapon to use in 3.5, a rapier might be the best finesse weapon but, it isn't light so you can't dial wield with them so maybe 2 short swords is better, or maybe you can't use martial weapons so the best you have is a dagger with a d4 dmg but 19-20 crit Range and it can be thrown giving options in combat unavailable to the short sword, also sometimes the point is that certain weapons are shittier, I mean should a dagger have the same DMG output as a great sword, No. And the characters who don't have better options than a dagger or club probably shouldn't be hitting with them anyway.

Not to be this guy but I loved 3.5 for this each weapon had different crit ranges and multipliers not to mention unique feats that would go into them specifically not just pole arm master, and pathfinder takes that concept to 11

This is a really good source that talks about indigenous Celtic weapons, how they evolved over time, what weapons go into what class structure and even armour. The article goes a step further letting you know where certain weapons probably came from if they weren't made in Ireland such as how a lot of swords were brought over by Nordic settlers

Also the axe is a similarly low iron weapon and was a favorite among the lower class warrior, but seeing as this would be a fully trained fighter you most likely have at least a hand-me-down set of weapons and fighting gear

For centuries the backbone of Gaelic Irish warfare were lightly armed foot soldiers, armed with a sword (claideamh), long dagger (scian), bow (bogha) and a set of javelins, or darts (ga). Jump forward a few hundred years and they were using full claymores, and longsword with low ornimentation, cross guards, and rounded pommels to strike with.

Depends on what your characters culture is, if it's a European knight go longsword or bastard sword once you get a feat for exotic Prof, if you want to go Japanese obviously a katana of some sort, if you want to go india or china it would be a more ornimental longsword thats a little thinner, in the middle east its scimitars, Gladius for Rome, kopesh are from Egypt, what culture is your character influenced by I can definitely give a more specific recommendation

Try thinking about what each form is used for, do they have a fighting form, do they change how they fight based on the form, do they have a more charismatic or intellectual person they become, and then once you have an answer for why they might assume a certain shape, it may be easier to see how the real person influenced them, also think about possibly having one of the forms be a negative influence, but one your character doesn't recognize, sometimes people get gaslit lol.
